According to people who have had this problem before (error code E5 means blockage in the drain circuit) have solved it by
1:Remove the metal front panel from the dishwasher. this may be hidden by you kitchen kickboard its held on with 5 posi screws. 2: find a round black plasitc lump, similair to a yoyo!. 3:remove the rubber pipe that goes into it and blow down the pipe(you will hear air blowing into the dishwasher) then blow into the plasitc lump(you should hear it rattle) 4:put it all back together.
The black plastic lump is the pressure sensor, water gets stuck in it so the dishwasher thinks theres water inside so tries to pump it out but the pressure sensor still says there is water in so you get the error. Blowing through clears the water.
It is also a good idea to use dishwasher cleaner kit now and then- this is available from the super market in the dishwasher detergent section and is used with an empty dishwasher. Will get rid of all the muck that collects in the hoses and the drain.
Hi
I just had the same problem - which is how I came across your question. The spring in the mechanism had snapped and so it would not lock shut.
I have ordered a part from Belling online. I have already taken it apart and it seems straightforward.
One thing I would recommend - remove the outer facing panel first as it is very heavy. You will then find you only need to remove the top black section - make sure you turn the electricity off first and watch out for residual electricity in the control panel.
The part cost £16 with delivery. Should arrive in the next couple of days.

I just cleaned out the filter and took the drain pipe off the machine and flushed it out, looks like there was a partial blockage, machine has worked fine since.
Got this problem resolved pressed the first button and last button on the control and restarted the machine, seem to have cleared the problem...
Give it a go
thanks very much i will see :))
