Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

SONY BRAVIA KLV-S32A10E LCD TV. Screen is filled with multicolour small pixels.

LCD TV screen is covered by many small multicoloured pixels. They are all over the whole screen with equals space/gap between each pixel. All inputs including PC input using computer and Audio Video input with DVD player are showing the multicolour pixels on top of the input/tv channel pictures. However upon showing the menu, the pixels seems to be pulled from the whole screen and cover only slightly more of the size of the menu window on the screen. Any ideas where the problem lies? Thank you for your assistance.

This TV should be similar to KLV-S32A10. My guess is the "E" at the end only to represent European version. I have posted some pictures to view the problems.

SOURCE: Green spots/pixels at top of TV screen

I have a 50" Pioneer PDP-503MXE with the same problem - the fans don't run. It appears to be a problem with the temperature sensor that controls the fan speed. However, the fans can manually be switched to MAX.
To do this, put the display in standby. Press the 'Menu' button and within 3 seconds press the 'Power/Standby' button. The 'Integration Menu' will appear. Select the 'Option' tab on the right. Scroll down (next page) to the 'Fan Control' option. It will most likely be set to 'Auto'. Press 'Set' to change it to 'Max'. Within a few seconds the fans will run.
At Max the fans are a bit noisey but it will cool the unit down.

SOURCE: my sony bravia has no audio when used as cable tv

Check the connections between the cable box and the TV. If you are using scart check the connector is in squarely if using rgb or composite you need a separate audio connection using the red and white phon sockets.

This is the main fault, that most Sony LCD TVs. The actual cause is with a faulty T'Con board. For most Sony LCD sets, this part [T'Con board]; will be a built in part with its display panel, and can't be replaced. Display panel replacement is the only repair work. Nothing can be done, even for the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

On the original SONY remote press display to remove that---if left on long enough it will actually burn that image into the screen--button on almost any Sony Tv remote will remove or clear it.

Sony KLV-40U100M Screen replacement

If this were just about any other brand, you'd likely be able to find another brand of TV with the same size screen and swap the inverter boards and the LVDS board. The problem with Sony is that the company uses internal designations. If you have homeowner's or renter's insurance, it might cover some of the cost. Otherwise, put the damaged set on eBay (you'll get a couple hundred dollars plus shipping) and go buy a new set. Likely, any larger set for sale with a good screen is going to go for more on eBay and finding one is rare.

Sony Bravia KLV-40U100M-screen is distorted, overlay or various vertical lines

The resolution on this was to check the surge protector the television was plugged into. Once we unplugged and plugged into another surge protector, the screen went back to normal and the appearance was great. We believe this was due to one of the resistors within the surge protector may have become faulty.
