Cannot connect my Sony Ericsson K770i to my GO 720T for data

I bought my GO 720T in the UK but now reside in New Zealand. Recently I bought a Sony Ericsson K770i as the TT "guarantee full connectivity" with this phone. Although I can make and receive voice and SMS messages, I can not connect to My Services to obtain Buddies, Weather advice, etc. Correction, I can 'sometimes' connect via a UK IPS such as Cable and Wireless in Guernsey, but when I do this I afterwards loose all connectivity. I certainly cannot connect via Vodafone NZ which have said all my connection requirements are operational. What makes this more frusting is my inability to connect to the TT Support page! Yours sincerly but ready to move to Navman, Andrew McGregor.

Hi Andrew, I have found it very useful to update the application software running on my GO500. The update is available for free from the TomTom website, using the TomTom Home application that you can download onto your computer. Upgraded software ran the bluetooth connection to my phone MUCH better. Tom Tom Home allows you to backup your maps, voices, etc on your computer drive, should anything happen to your GO. All the best, OzKluger

After extreme perseverance, the problem fixed itself and I now have connection via a local provider.

Our Tomtom has lost the plot

bought in the UK? youn need to turn it upside down to work here and pull the wool off its eyes when in NZ

check that the battery is fully charged on AC before running it on DC. That can give you erratic directions if not fully charged and coinstantly dying. The pull is greater than the reserve charge input.
TomTom Claim ww warranty but its not quite true! The only place in NZ is Auckland from memory and it ould take up to 30 days.
Are you now resident or still touring?
if resident it mightr also be cheaper to buy a new and reliable GPS U would recommend an Altina 801o with NZ Maps of the latest rtelease by Polnav. $AU290 + reg post of about AU$15 tyuep Marbella Australia into your browser and take a look at the products. Service is excellent and so is the support.
