The process begin to find the hardware then tells me that it couldn't be found. The item it is trying to find is called: Video Controller.

Do I need this and if so, is it something that I need to purchase and intall by opening the back of the Laptop and what does it do exactly?

Fist of all if it is saying that it is trying to install the video controller and u need to check the very first thing is that u the display of ur computer is fine or not and if it is fine then dont worry about this popup and then u need to right click on my computer and then click on manage and then device manger and then click on device maanger and then check for the video controller option and check it out if there is any red x or is there any yellow exclamation mark on it and if it is click on top of the page that says install or something like that it says scan for hardware changes and then it sould be ok and then restart ur computer, and now the computer should be ok u will not get any popup or what u can do is u can do the msocnfig, click start>run>type msconfig>click services>click hide all microsoft>click start up>click on disable all>click apply>click close.....restart the computer and it will be ok.....good luck try it out....

Hi all, My hard disk suddenly stop working, when

Try going to the control panel and then the install new hardware. When it asks for you to search for driver don't let the system look for a driver. Go to manual setup(or install from a list). If that doesn't work, then go to the seagate website to see if they have a driver for your version of windows. If seagate has the driver, then download it, go to install hardware, run the wizard, and when it asks for you to install from a disk that came with the device, click that option and the go to the directory where you downloaded the driver and load the driver.

My printer is plugged in everything is as it should be. my laptop does not see my hp photo smart 7760 when i go to add printer it shows it but with a caution sign i try to troubleshoot it and the problem...

The driver that was supposed to be included in 7 is not there, or it's corrupted.
Unplug the printer from the laptop and reboot. Install and run a good system cleaner (CCleaner will be good enough for you). Reboot and connect the printer - the new Hardware wizard should appear. In there select the option that instructs Windows to search for a driver online - it should be automatically found and installed.
If the wizard window doesn't appear then you must update the driver online yourself by following the official instructions found here

My computer will not install the wireless USB software. I need help. I get through the first couple of prompts and then it just looks like it keeps loading but does not.

What is the operating system on your computer. If it is windows XP or VISTA, then try to install the adapter using the found new hardware wizard.
Do not run the disc that comes with the wireless adapter. connect the adapter to the computer first. you will get the message found new hardware.
if you do not get the message that means the adapter is detected by the computer or the software might be installed already. uninstall the software and then connect he adapter.
If you get the found new hard ware message then it will ask you can windows connect ....
select = no not at this time and click next.
on the next window select the option install software automatically and insert the disc that comes with the adapter. it will install the software .
after that you will need to connect to the network.

If I plug it into the laptop it makes the sound when a USB device is plugged in. It says found new hardware, then it wants to install the hardware with the Wizard all goes well until the wizard tells

It seems the Operating System does not have drivers for your new device or some portion of the drivers are corrupted. If you have the drivers cd for the USB stuff, install the drivers without attaching it to the pc ok. Attach the device when prompted or when completed. Make sure that any previous installations of the software and/or the device should be uninstalled. Good luck

WINTV

Hi, you can download the driver for the HVR-1600 from HERE
(53MB FIle)

Step 1 - Extract the Installer
Download the file to a suitable location on your computer, then extract it . Windows has built in support for zip files, if you right click on the file and select 'extract all' a wizard will guide you through extracting the directory.

Step 2 - Remove the previous software version (if necessary)
If you had previously installed the WinTV-PVR-1600 in your PC, browse to the folder you just extracted to (e.g. through My Computer) and locate a file called hcwclear.exe
Run HCWCLEAR.EXE and choose the options Remove All WinTV Drivers and Applications (Total Removal) and Search All .INF Files for Conflicting Hardware.
Note: wait until the black box has disappeared of its own accord before proceeding.

Step 3 - Reboot
Shutdown and reboot your PC.
IMPORTANT! Once rebooted, please do not cancel any 'Found new hardware' wizards. Also ensure that the original driver CD is NOT in the CD drive.

Step 4 - New Driver Installation
After Windows reboots, you will see some New Hardware Found prompts. For each one, please choose the following options:
4A) On the first page, select 'No, not this time' and click Next.
4B) On the next page, select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)' and click Next.
4C) On the next page you will be asked 'Please choose your search and installation options'. Select 'Search for driver in these locations' and then specify the extracted folder (the folder you extracted in step 1).
Note: Specifiy the 'Driver' subdirectory if Windows cannot find the driver file.
Note: You can also click the Browse button and browse for the directlry created in Step 1.
4D) Keep clicking Next for the rest of the steps then Finish to end the Hardware Installation Wizard
Depending on the model WinTV board, you may see several New Hardware Found wizards. Follow the same steps for each.

Step 5 - Run Setup.exe
Run Setup.exe from the extracted folder (from Step 1). You will be presented with a list of things to install, leave all the default settings and click Install.
Once the installation is complete, all drivers will be installed and you should have a WinTV2000 icon on your desktop.

Computer doesn't recognize camera

Remove previous all installation/ file if any. Insert the Driver CD in the CD ROM again a wizard interface would be active, from that wizard complete the installation by clicking Next - Next. Do not plug the camera before fresh installation complete. If wizard ask to plug your camera, then plug it.
