Question about Panasonic PT-47WX49 47" Rear Projection Television
ECA1EM472E is the part # i've already got a price i have one last question and i would not have been able to even know what to look for without thi web site, just to make sure When the capacitor has goo coming out of it IT needs to be replaced? And i guess one more what would make this happen
Mr. D: The capacitor top generally on new electronics components have a "cross like" mark on the aluminum top (+). When this "cross" is open up like a "canopy", capacitor must be replaced, because it is completly damaged on the inside. This occurs for 2 main things: 1. A cold solder (weld) that forces the capacitor to overreach their capacity of energy storing, and... 2. Reversed polarity causing overheat inside of it and then it simply can't stand the low level of resistance and explodes. SithPitt
