Easy Peazy, Nice and Eazy,

Connect the ISP modem, that may be connect to your home computer right now, to the main input in the wireless router. Now connect the computer to any other port available with a second network cable. You just did the basic setup.

Now hold the tiny reset (with a pen) in till the unit cycles through. This will clear all custom / security settings, and leave like new. You now can connect any wireless devices. Just choose you SSID netwotk ID (user).

Security requires some administration via web admin, but this should get you going for now. GL

If you are using Vista, you will probley want this link, too. Click on Network icon.

In the past I have found the biggest issue with networking is firewalls, so I suggest you disable them just for testing and setting up your network.

Good Luck

SOURCE: link the netgear wgr614v10 to linksys wireless adapter

First you will need to check the wireless settings of the router. Do you have any computer connected to the router ? If not then connect the computer to the router and open the set up page of the router, check the wireless settings of the router.
Once you have all the wireless settings of the router then you can try to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computer.

SOURCE: i have tried everything, and i can't get this

During configuration, you must enable the router radio and SSID (Name) broadcast, so that the router would be visible to laptops and other wi-fi enable devices.

Select Wireless Settings under Advanced in the main menu of the WNDR3300 router.
Make sure the Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable SSID Broadcast check boxes are selected.

Hope it helps!

SOURCE: i have two netgear routers

Most routers (Wireless-G) have about the same range. However, the actual range in real-time environment is much less. I think that your network would work fine if you place the router at a suitable location i.e. at the central location/ height. Also, based on my on-site experience, I suggest that you may relocate the router to another location depending upon your network environment. It has always helped me a great deal. Placing the router avoiding obstacles such as concrete pillars, walls, steel cabinets etc in the signal path have remarkable effect on range and overall performance of the network.
2. There are two ways to increase the range/ coverage area (i) Adding external antenna of appropriate type (ii) Installing additional Access Point (AP) connecting it with the existing AP wirelessly in line-of-sight (creating WDS) OR connecting the two APs with wire, which is a better option as it provides robust and reliable connectivity between APs.
3. So, in short, to extend the range, it is recommended that you may place the additional router at an appropriate location as described above and connect it to the existing router through wire (CAT-6 Cable). (The router would communicate through wire and the range of your networ would extended up to the placement/ location of the additional router. Rename the additional access point for easy identification and make it secure.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Hi,
You can access the router through web interface and configure it.
The default username is admin and leave the the password field blank - Don't type anything - and Click Login). All you have to do is connect the router to the DSL Modem through LAN cable (or wirelessly) and make configure the router according to the needs and ISP. To secure the connection follow the following steps: -
First you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is 192.168.0.1 (written at the back of router) and lookup for the options to do the following: -
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and leave the the password field blank - Don't type anything)
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)

Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Settings" 2.Under "Security Options", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Apply

Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.

I need to do a factory reset

The router's admin page is http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 and the default password should be either "admin" or "password" without quotes. There should be a choice under "Setup" called "Factory Reset". That will erase the settings and reset it like new.

Alternatively, you can follow the procedure as given below on all the brands I've tried (Belkin, D-Link, Linksys)

1. hold the reset button for 30 seconds (don't release)
2. unplug the power (still holding reset) for 10 seconds
3. plug power back in (still holding reset)
4. hold reset for another 30 seconds - the lights will usually begin flashing in some odd pattern
5. release the reset button
6. wait 1 full minute or until the lights stop flashing
7. unplug the power for 10 seconds, just to do a reboot
8. verify the settings (e.g. SSID) are back to the defaults

Feel free to get online D-Link router/wireless router support at http://www.vtechsquad.com/wireless-router-support/ to fix D-Link router/wireless router issues.

Wireless network seting

It depends if it's Windows XP then just go to START/SETTINGS/NETWORK connection.
Click on wireless and should walk you throug step by step.

However, you must have a wireless router!
The router also has to be setup FIRST to activate the wireless function.
It's a bit complex because you need to set several 'keys' and channels.
My suggestion is to get help with your network setup on the ROUTER first.
Then all the other things should be very easy.

Reset to factory settings??

Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset. Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release. Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure. Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset. Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults.
