My Kenmore compact washer with dryer on top, will not go from the first wash-rinse-drain-spin cycle to the second rinse-drain-spin-off cycle.

Check and make sure the door is pushed all the way down until you hear a click. If it starts with the next cycle, then your door switch may be bad. It's a pretty easy fix, but I would watch a video at least before doing it yourself.

Slow running sink

Use a caustic based drain cleaner (draino) and let sit for maybe 10 minutes. Put in the plud and fill tub to about half then pull the plug. Repeat if not successful first time and let sit longer

Excess detergent light keeps coming on even when not adding detergent

1st check your hose connections they may be dirty or or clogged then use a chemical like draino or liquid plumber if you still have problems with your hose connections it may be your washing machine itself then you may have to contact your local plumber if he can't find the problems with your washing machine you may have to get a new washing machine

Hi I have a SMEG D1612CA9 intergrated dishwasher. Last night during the cycle the pump which takes the water away has remained on stopping the cycle continuing. The first light has come on and whenever you...

You need to disconnect the power and the hoses.
Also unsrew the machine from the cabinet to pull it out.
When you have pulled the machine out, put some towls on the floor and tilt machine on its back. You will notice a lot of water come out the base of the machine.
This will reset the flood switch which has been triggered.
Reconnect the hoses while the machine is out and run a cycle. You have a water leak so you need to find out where the leak is from. In Smeg dishwashers, the most common item is a burst drain hose. Normally where it comes out the back of the machine, the hose bends and tears as it pushes against the back wall.
Remove the from kick panel and look inside the base for leaks while machine is running.

After washing clothes smell stale. We have tried adding more detergent without success and draining the pump on a regular basis. Any ideas?

Check the drain pipe at the rear of the unit, sometimes the position allows the dirty water to re-enter the washing machine and sit there between cycles. Some units have a rigid plastic holder to ensure the pipe is curved at a specific height so the water empties using gravity as well as the pump. (Same process as syphoning liquid, once the liquid is flowing through the pipe, gravity continues to **** the liquid through) You may also need to check the pipework from which the detergent/softener enters the unit as these can sometimes go a little mouldy. Once you have looked at these two problems, run the machine empty on a high temperature cycle to clear away any disturbed grime.

Good luck, hope I was of some assistance

Drain pump running when unit starts but no water to appliance

The machine probably has water in the base (not visibly in the machine, but in the base where the conponents are). Pull the machine out, sit the front on a large towel and holding the back of the d/w pull it towards you. Any water trapped in the base will drain out. It may be a fair amount as the flood safety switch will activate on approx 1.5 ltrs. Once you've cleared the water run a prewash or quickwash to check d/w. Hope this helps.

It isn't draining. There is dirty water sitting in the bottom of it. Tried to see if anything was blocking the drain but couldn't find anything.

Check the entire length of the drain hose from the washer bottom to the connection at the sink drain for kinks--you may need to pull the machine out of the cabinet part way to check. Make sure the hose passes over a point higher than the drain connection at the sink. If you have access to a wet/dry shop vacuum, remove the sink end and **** the water out. If nothing comes out, then there is an obstruction somewhere. Use the vacuum to **** the drain opening inside the washer.

Beko d2731fw the dishwasher is just sitting on the drain cycle , the selector isnt changing anything , could this be the timer or something else.

Anti -flood could of activated? now just set to drain , need to disconnect power and pull machine out and tip it back to see if any water is sitting at base of the unit, please remember to put towels under and around the base to catch any such water?

If you have water there it could mean a link , need to tip machine on its back (after removing water by tipping back) undo the 4 screws and visually check for loose or cracked pipes? if loose pipe a simple jubille clip could solve possiable problem?
