Common problem with the Wii - you could replace the laser or easier to replace the full DVD drive itself.

CD disc drawer not opening. But says it's reading, then 'No Disc', when there is a disc in.

Please always include FULL 'make model (what it is)' as first 3 words in every question.

The laser optics are dusty and need cleaning. There are two optics, a low power track reading laser and a higher power data reading laser. The reading optic looks for, and reads the tracks data but yours can't see it.

A cleaning disc has small brushes to clean them off.

Disc inserted but NO DISK message appears

Try other discs to see if its still working properly...most likely the recording on the disc is not burnt properly or there's something wrong with the disc, (ie, scratched or surface dirt etc) or the DVD player just can't read the disc...for example can it read the type of disc(does it read dvd+r or dvd-r, or both?--- if i remember rightly)..... I've had discs that have had bad recordings but can still be read if placed into tray a particular way around... randomly try different positions, also cleaning disc as you go...depending on how desperately you want it to read the disc...could also be bad disc batch... there could be many reasons...

Getting disc read error

THere are a number of problems that can cause a disc read error. The lens can be damaged or very dirty. The motor that moves the les could be stuck or damaged. The disc could be dirty or scratched. Or the disc format might not be able to be read by the player. Do you try more than one disc? Are you trying different types of discs? like store boght discs and recordable discs. Some players wont read mp3 or cd-rw discs.

No disc

Hello,

has it been reading discs previously? If it has been reading discs previously, then it means the lens (laser) of your player is weak and that's why it cannot read disc.

You need to change the lens for it to be able to read disc again.

Good luck.

Wii can"t read disc

If Wii gives can't read disc, so first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

How to download unreadable disc for lexmark printer

The printer install disc may be faulty or your disc drive is faulty.
Insert the disc into a different computer, if it can be read then the problem is your disc drive.
If it is your disc drive, turn off your computer, open your computer and remove and reconnect the power and data cables on the "faulty" drive, switch on your computer, let it boot up and install the printer disc.
If it still cannot read the disc then you need to replace the faulty disc drive with a new one.

Unable to read wii discs

I had the same problem, I take it you have a modded wii(chipped), if you use a backup disc it is of a lower quality then original discs, the wii gets read errors without you noticing and tries to read those disc areas again sometimes suceeding and the gaming goes on, sometimes it fails, and a disc read error occurs. Over time the dvd assembly will take some damage it will loose it rigidity it once had and the wii stops reading discs. The problem gets worse if you have standing up, so first thing si to flip it down and try. Otherwise you (or someone you trust) will have to open the wii and adjust the lens sled so it wont flap as much up and down. Hope this helps..
