The 9V battery is for the mic or the transmitter from what I can tell. According to the manual, the bottom of the mic is where the battery compartment is located, and it unscrews. You've obviously checked battery strength, battery connection and volume settings for the dead mic...does the green transmit (RF) LED light when you turn the mic on? Does the red audio (AF) LED light when you talk into the mic? Best solution....buy a better quality wireless system ($85 wireless?!? ...no thanks).
