Question about Sharp MX-2300N Color Copier
SHarp MX2300N color copier is set up to scan to our network, but it keeps getting kicked off somehow, and it says "network not found" ... is this something to do with the driver or IP address changing? And if so, how do I fix it?
Drivers are for print functions only (or twain scan via USB). Check for bad cable, port, or jack. Could be another device on the network is being handed the IP of the copier via dhcp (or vice versa) can you ping it from a workstation? I have also seen the dell network assistant utilities on some dell workstations cause issues like this.

Your machine has Vista supported print drivers?
This is where you can go for the Print Drivers.
Scanning: first your Machine needs network scanning enabled: (if you can scan with other PC's, dont worry about this) this a key you will get from your dealer..
as for scanning there are a few options:
Scan to email which you can scan through the network to your email using your email server..
Scan to desktop
you can use Sharpdesk a program that will come with the machine if Scanning is enabled? which now is available for vista, your local sharp dealer will have(not sold in stores)
or you can try the Twain Scan (LAN).. which you can find on the sharp web site listed above..

The new fire wall was set up with a password, free the password on the server setup, that should eliminate block.

Are you using Sharpdesk? first check the firewalls, allow the exception, if that is not it, then from network scanner tool profiles, Change the Port, I believe it defaults to port 4687 - or 4689? (this uses an FTP port,) Allow this port in the exceptions. If the network scanner tool is not running, your machine will not communicate with the PC.

Open up the large front door, it will swing downwards. At the top section you'll see four boxes with front handles. Each of the boxes is a slide-out container of toner.
Follow the instructions on the new toner box to prepare it for the copier.
You'll note each toner box has a color designation (on a plastic label just above where you grab). Simply grab the handle on the one you need to replace, pull it out and then slide in a new one.
Also note there are four colors: Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and Black. The LCD screen should indicate which toner bottle(s) to replace.

To set an IP address, go to the system settings page. Enter admin mode (password if unchanged should be "admin") on page 2 select network settings and then ip address settings. Input your required info and switch machine off and back on when instructed.
