Your tub bearings are likely shot. Here are several vids to watch on what it takes to replace them. Maytag, Kenmore, Whirlpool and several others will all have same basic procedure so don't worry about Brand specifics. They are all made by the same company these days and even use many of the same parts. good luck.

SOURCE: washer won't spin or agitate

On this model the motor turns one way for spin and the other for agitation. This action is controlled by a thrust bearing located just undernieth the plastic cap on the center pully. Many people are thrown off thinking a transmission problem when it's actually this thrust bearing kit. However, it could be the trans. If so you have a 5 year warranty on it, part only. There is also a number of service flashes on this model including: snubber kit, flash number 26-756, which has to do with vibration during spin. Things you want to make sure of is that the pump is not seized up, leakage from the center tub on to the bearing and brake. You may want to call Maytag and inquire about the service flashes on this model, you could be covered. Other than that my guess without seeing it would be the thrust bearing kit, part number 12500036. Not a bad job, the kit comes with instructions. The hardest part is getting that last washer on. SOURCE: Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

it sound to me to be the water pump, with all the water in the tub, the machine dont spin ok, and the water is extracted by centifugal force, not by pumping as it should be, call a tech, this is a hard job for regular people..good luck

SOURCE: Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.

SOURCE: washer makes loud clunk as it goes around.

it sounds like you have a broken spinner assembly,
this is the unit that connects your innur tub to you center shaft seal,,,,
it can be replaced and repaired by you no special tools but the cost could be quite extensive....
an outer tub and spinner is an absolute minimum and there are parts to inspect as you take it apart
do you need both halves of the outer tub would be the biggest one
unless this machine is less than just a few years I would just not bother putting the money into it
its well past cost effective 500.00 for the two parts ive mentioned

FIRST IS ALL THE WATER BEING PUMPED OUT? SOMETIMES IF IT IS NOT THE SPIN WILL BE SLOW. ALSO CHECK BY LOOKING IN THE BACK OF WASHER THAT NOTHING IS CAUSING A DRAG ON THE TUB. CHECK THAT THE BELT IS NOT LOOSE AND SLIPPING.

Washer making loud noise and wont spin

Check and see if the inner drum is loose and floppy.if it is, it's likely the bearings have collapsed, and require replacement...If the drum feels stiff and tight, it could be that something is jammed between the inner and outer drums. Both situations could be costly...Get quotes....Good luck...Nomess

Washer vibrates terribly loud on high speed spin cycle

Either bad motor, motor bearing, tub bearing or idler pulley (also broken motor mount). Unplug unit. Spin tub by hand. Try and feel if spins freely. If direct drive unit (no belts). Most likely tub bearing or motor. Remove rear panel. Inspect for damage (broken mounting parts). Turn tub by hand. Look for malfunction.

Whirlpool washer LSQ9549LW makes one loud, violent clunk ea. spin

great analogy, sounds as if you have broken/stripped the tub block( its waht secures the inner tub to the outer tub) part number 389140, if you removethe agitator( a 7/16" bolt down the center of agitator) there is one more lock ring that isactually tightened down across the top of said "tub block"( usually need a specialty spanner wrench to remove, but have done it with a pipe wrench) after removing that lock nut the inner tub will release and the new tub block can be installed...

Front Loading Washer - Load Banging During Spin Cycle

hello, your problem is that your shocks are bad and need to be replaced. you can access them by removing the front lower panel. make sure you unplug the washer first. you will see 2 of them on either side of the tub. i belive you can twist the upper portion and then remove the bottom screew and remove the shock. of course before you start you should have the new shocks. and make sure their is no water in the tub.

NOISE and TUB IS WILD WHILE SPINNING

Is this a new occurence or has it been that way all along? What type of floor is your machine installed on? A soft floor such as pergo or soft shiny lino can cause the washer to be a wild monster when it spins. We placed a commercial type rug with a thick rubber back completely under our washer and that seems to hold it in place perfectly. I received this advice after a service call.

If it has not been happening all along, it could be that you have a problem with the machine being unlevel or that you do have a problem with the tub. Does the tub actually seem loose if you turn it with your hand when empty? Extra heavy loads will contribute to a wild spin as well, and loads that are mixed items. (such as towels with cotton shirts.) it is better to wash the same with each other and not too full.

Good luck to you and thank you for using Fixya! if you have anymore questions or comments, please feel free to get back to me.
