My computer does not recognize the sound card anymore.

Usually happens when Windows is reinstalled, such as using a Restoration/Recovery disk.

Sometimes Windows just has a brain f@rt.

Looses the address to the Driver file

(All the files on the Harddrive have an Address.
Losing the address could be equated, to loosing an address to someone's house, or a place of business.
Don't know the address of the house, or business, you won't find them)

Suggestion is to download AND install, the driver file for the Soundcard

Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

The device is the audio chipset.
Do not know which version of Windows is being used, for the Operating System

Soundcard
A heavily misused term

Misused if meaning Integrated Audio.
Audio (Sound) chipset is mounted (Soldered) directly to the motherboard, and is NO soundcard.

A Soundcard is a sound adapter card, that is plugged into the motherboard.

IF it is truly a soundcard, I need the manufacturer's name, and model number of the soundcard. The model number will be on it.

If it is Integrated Audio we will go on...........

[The I/O area of the computer is on the Back of the desktop computer.
The I/O area is part of the motherboard.

I/O stands for Input/Output.
So this means the I/O area, is the area on the motherboard, where Input devices are plugged in, and Output devices are plugged in.

Some common Input devices are the Mouse, and Keyboard.
Some common Output devices are the Monitor, and Speakers.

Speakers. SOUND.
If the audio cables are plugged into an audio port in the I/O area, you are using Integrated Audio.

I/O area. Rectangular area, that also has the sheet metal, I/O Shield surrounding it.

The Horizontal slots on the back of the computer, (In the metal framework), are Expansion Slots.
The back end of an expansion adapter card are seen in these slots, IF one is installed.

A Soundcard is a type of expansion adapter card.
It's a sound adapter card.
Soundcard

IF you truly have a Soundcard, it will be in one of these Horizontal slots ]

My computer have no audio

If it was working and stopped then you may have a driver problem or hardware. If you have just installed or upgraded a operating system then the problem is just a driver.

Go to the elite groups website and go to downloads
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Index.aspx?MenuID=0&LanID=8

To get sound you usually need to download two files. One is the motherboard INF files. This contains information files that simply let the operating system know what it is trying to talk to. So instead of unknown device it will know it is a soundcard. Install this one first. You may need to reboot before installing the actual audio drivers. The audio drivers will be a different file and you will need to make sure you get the correct version for your operating system.

So download and install the inf first then reboot and install the audio drivers and it should be making noise.

My on board via soundcard no sound hear

though itz unclear to me of wat os u r using..
assuming that u r using win xp pro sp2..n directx installed..
check if Audio device is enabled in bios..

howevr, download microsoft kb888111 update n install it..u need to re-install or update the device driver (may b manually)..logon to internet n seek the package/audio driver..along wid the company, there will b a list of such site n driver download links if u search by the model name on a search engine like google..
download them onto a location; if the driver is in a zip format, unzip it,if itz in .exe form, just run it; if done manually it'll ask for the correct driver and location; relocate the path and a .inf file (wat it'll ask for)....goto the device manager n verify, if installed properly..!!
also download n install k-lite mega codec pack....

if not fixed try using a standby pci snd card (in such case it'll b a confirmed case of ur system board is likely to b defective)..
but always better to consult ur system admin/vendor....

Sound card missing

You may have to install the new drivers for your Realtec '97 Audio device from Realtek: The file name is WDM_A400.exe. You can google it to find it.
You can also (recommended) try to download the audio drivers from www.hp.com

My soundcard got deleted

Not a problem. If it is an onboard sound just go to www.asus.com; click on the support link, lookup your specific board model #, and select the operating system you are running. A list of all available drivers will appear. Download and install those you need. Reboot and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

You may have to identify your audio device on the motherboard if you do not know this type in unknown device identifier into Google and download this small program then double click on it and run the program This should list all the hardware in your computer go the the soundcard entry and it should tell you the make you can click on a link to a driver for this device or once you know it go to a web site called driverguide.com fill out the free registration and download the make and make sure it is for your OS once installed reboot the computer and it should work

Please rate this so I can improve my response
