Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

I accidentally plug my Wii that I got from US from 120v to 220v. I got the converter but I mistakenly plug it to the wrong voltage:(. I heard the poop sound. Did I burn the power adapter or the wii it self? Please help, I'm in Indonesia now. Thanks

You have most likely cooked the Wii itself, To check connect the correct power adapter to the correct system and in the correct power source ( 120v or 220v ) if it works all good if not you know you cooked it. If you are unable to test in this manner have it checked by a qualified technician.

SOURCE: Wii power source probably broken

Plug something else into the adapter to make sure it works, if it works you may have blown the Wii's fuse which will need repair.

SOURCE: Wii plugged to 220v oulet. Burning plastic smell on adapter only.

Probably the adapter if you saw it burning from the adapter. I think you can replace an adapter from a store. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Wii 100v plugged into 220v

Might try a different a/c adapter from gamestop or someplace else.....If that doesnt work, it may have internal fuses that popped.....If it doesnt the its toast.

I purchased remington shaver in US now it not working properly and not getting charged. where do i have repairing centre in hyderabad

Many Remington shavers sold in the US are only for use with 120V. Voltage in your country may be 220V-240V. If you attempted to use a 120V charger in your 220V electrical outlet without a voltage converter, you have probably damaged the charger.
Chargers can be purchased at shaveroutlet.com. You will need your shavers model number to select the correct cord. And, you may need to use a voltage converter if the replacement you get is for use with 120V

I have a crosley CR8005A and i conected in my country (CHILE, SOUTH AMERICA) and here we have 220 v. can it fix it?

You need a step-down voltage converter to convert 220V to 120V.

Amazon has them. One example - http://www.amazon.com/VCT-VT-300-Voltage-Transformer-Converts/dp/B000J65PJQ/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1365005058&sr=1-13&keywords=convert+120V+to+220 or http://www.amazon.com/Voltage-Converter-220-240-110/dp/B001ES8YY6/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1365005058&sr=1-2&keywords=convert+120V+to+220.

Look for words like "voltage converter", "voltage transformer" and "travel"

I live in South Africa and my son has brought back a Panasonic shaver from the USA. Can our std 220v power outlet be suitable to charge the shaver? The power pack only mentions 120v input AC?

If the power supply that came with the unit says only 120V, you must use a voltage converter with the unit. If you plug the charger into your 220V system without a convertr, it will damage the charger

Can a Panasonic DMP-BDT310 Blue-Ray player from the US be set to 220V? Does it have a voltage selector?

No it does not have a voltage selector.

These units are made specifically for different regions A B or C.

I suppose you could get a converter.. 120v 60 hz to 220 V 55 hz.. but I would want to make sure it would play the proper format for your region before going through the trouble.

Best of luck

How do i convert motor from 120v to 220v

you should have a label on the pump that shows the connections. 120V=low voltage 220V=high voltage. Here is an example of a label:
Conect the internal motor wires to the terminals indicated. Then connect your line to the terminals indicated

Will my Logitech X-230 speakers work in a country with 220-240 V power outlets or would i need an adapter to use them there? If i connect them directly to the 240 V outlet, will they run properly or would...

Check the back of your sub to check your voltage range. You will see something like this: 110V-120V or 110V-220V. If you see the later, you are ready to go. If you see 110-120V only, you will need a power converter to power your speakers as well as any other 110-120V equipment. But no matter what, if it is 110-120V DO NOT PLUG DIRECT TO 220V!! It will blow your speakers. (I lived in Germany for 11 years.)

Plugged 4w 120v trimmer into 220v outlet with a 50-2000w 220-110v coverter - it blew fuse and doesn't work. soldering melted off wire inside

scrap the trimmer...
probablly damaged beyond cost of new one

a step down transformer would have been a better choice than a voltage converter ( not trying to be a wise guy here)..
