You do. It's just like using a word processor. If you write a best-selling novel, you own it, not the word processing program.

I have pictures stored on Picasa on my computer, and have recently found that I can't locate many of the pictures that I had stored there. (ones dated before 2010). Can you help?

Using your computer search features search for photos or try Picasa using the feature in the image. Always backup on external drives valuable files!

Hope this helps?

How do I delete pictures from my Nikon D3200 camera when importing pictures using Picasa

I do not use a program to transfer photos. I typically take the memory card out and access it directly, in some cases, with an adapter. I will always back up photos before I delete them. I then delete the photos off the memory card.

How do I transfer my pictures from the kodak easyshare to the shutterfly gallery? I cannot even transfer my recently added pictures to the Kodak gallery.

If your pictures are in jpg format, you can download Picasa, free from Google at http://picasa.google.com/ and use it to upload your photos. You can also do it using your browser if it handles Flash. If not, use the one by one uploader at Shutterfly. I recommend using Picasa, because it will find all the pictures on your PC and sort them by date. It includes a photo editor and facial recognition too. I would drag all your pictures to the "Pictures" folder to make it easier to work with them.

Regarding sending pictures using Picasa. Family complain that the photos they receive are too small to enjoy looking at.

Picasa is great for sending photos. You must go to the tools pulldown, bottom 'options' and there is a tab for email... where you can can change the size of the photo attached to the mail.

Picasa photos

Picasa only puts the pictures where you tell it to (the path is shown at the bottom left of the import screen). I'm not picking on you, but I DO recommend reading the Picasa instructions available on their site. It's one of the easier photo programs to use.

That said - if you know the name of at least one of the pictures you imported, you can use Windows search to find out what folder it was imported into.

I own a Pentax Optios4i Camera, as yet I have not managed to download photos to my Dell computer operating Windows. I have the cable and the pentax connection manual but no CD with the softwear. How do I...

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have misplaced my book for my Cannon 1100Is and I am having a problem remembering what to do to download some pictures. Can you please help me or guide me to a site where I can do this efficently? Thanks

I suggest that you download the free Picasa software from Google and use that to retrieve and manage your photos.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.
  • Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
  • Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
  • Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
  • Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
  • You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.

The user manual and other information about your camera are available here:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_archived_product_details.asp?id=1260

The camera originally came with a mini USB cable (click here for an example of this cable) that you can use to connect your camera to your computer's USB port.

The camera also came with a "Master CD-ROM" with software on it for working with your pictures. If you do not have the CD ROM, then I suggest that you download the free Picasa software from Google and use that to retrieve and manage your photos.
