Err 99 message on canon 450d

CANON ERROR 99 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card. 3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes. 4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. Does the "ERR 99' message appear? If it does, then the camera should be serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Insert the CF card. 3. Turn on the camera. 4. Format the CF card in the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. Does the "ERR 99' message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most likely source of the issue. Try using a different card. If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body. 3. Reattach your lens. 4. Turn on the camera. 5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture. If the "ERR 99' message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician. If you see the "ERR 99' with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera should be serviced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkXyLieNUDI - - - - - VIDEO & VOICE INSTRUSTION. Error 99

I tried to download the owner's manual for my Panasonic DMC FS25 camera but it didn't download

You should be able to download a 120-page document at
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMCFS25.PDF

If you can't, please reply to this post stating what web browser you're using, as well as any error messages you may be getting.

Canon SD770 IS's lens won't close. I get error message: Lens error, restart camera. Restarting doesn't work. Any advice? Strange that it won't even take photos or playback while the lens is stuck!

Welcome to FixYa

Camera detected this error while moving the lens and cut the power automatically. This error message may appear if you press on the lens while its moving. Make sure that when your going to turn on the camera, your hand or fingers will not block the lens to retrack. Turning on the camera in a dusty or sandy environnment is also one reason for this message to be displayed.
Try to remove the battery and re-insert it, then turn on the camera again. If the message still persist, take the camera to a service center because there may be a problem with the lens.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if this solution was helpful.

Hello, I have fuji finepix F50fd camera. It suddenly takes blurred pictures. The lens is clean and there are no messages on the screen. Can't remeber dropping it or damaging it in any way. Regards, Sofia

Welcome to FixYa.

There are three reasons why do you get a blurred images.

1. The camera lens is dirty
- clean the lens with soft and dry cloth
2. AF frame (lit red) and !AF appeared when taking pictures.
- check the focus on the subject and take pictures
3. A small camera icon appeared when taking pictures
- It may cause camera shae. Hold the camera steadily.Use flash photography. A tripod may be recommended, depending on the scene and mode.

Feel free to send us comments or suggestions if this solution was helpful.

My name is Madhu. I use the camera Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi. When the inbuilt FLASH is on then a message pop up as "busy now", when i tried to click the camera to take a photo then...

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Thank you

LCD display has translucent vertical bars

The ribbon connector to the LCD display has become ajar, and will need to be reset. You will have to take the camera apart to do this, or have someone service it. If you go to YouTube, there are videos about the procedure. Here is one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Mj3Qp3xYU&feature=fvw. It's not too hard, but it is a bit tedious. If you're patient, you can save a few bucks doing it yourself. Good luck, and hope this helps.

Card Error

This is from Konicas site. don't know if this will be any help for you since you had posted a long time ago. you most like have a new camera by now. anyway. Question: When a CompactFlash is loaded, a message of "Card Error. OK" appears and remains on the monitor display. Answer: Please follow the procedure below. While the message is displayed, press the center of the controller. The monitor display and data panel will turn off. Turn the Main Switch dial to OFF position and remove the CompactFlash from the camera. - When "No Card" message appears next time when the camera is activated in the recording mode, the camera and CompactFlash are OK. - When "Card Error. OK" appears again, the CompactFlash may be faulty. Use other card.
