Plug it in to a usb port then you will need drivers and software
Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7 http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html
on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8 It might take some time being a freeware driver solution note: it will find all of your outdated drivers this is a free driver solutions This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer Hope this helps.

How to take pictures with a vivitar mini digital camera and store the photos on my computer

Hi.

To connect the Vivitar camera to a computer with Windows XP and following versions of Windows, or a Mac, all you need is an USB cable fitting the camera. This cameras are detected without installing dedicated software or drivers.

About one minute after connecting the camera, the computer will detect the device, and install automatically the camera, that will be seen as an external hard drive.

At that point, open My computer. You will see that an additional external USB drive had been installed.

The new external drive will be the camera itself, open it and open the folder in the drive to find the picture file.

Use the Windows copy and paste function or a dedicated software to copy the files into the My Pictures folder in your computer. You find My picture inside My document folder.

Note. if the camera is not recognized, then this model may need Vivitar driver (usually they do not). In that case download the software from the Vivitar website below, or give us the complete model, or contact Vivitar.

Here also Vivitar software to manage the pictures. Try both ways: VIVITAR we make it easy! | Homepage

How do i take pictures out of the internal memory of my camera to put them into my computer ?

Hello my friend,
Here two ways to transfer pictures from your internal memory into your computer:
1- If you have also an external memory in your camera, you can move the pictures from the internal memory into the external memory from the camera menu. then you take out the external memory and you insert it to your laptop if it has a memory slot, otherwise you will need to buy an all-in-one memory cards reader, it's very cheap and it's the easy way.
2- if you don't have an external memory and you have the USB cable, you can connect the camera directly to your computer. but you will need to have also the CD ans install the camera software in your computer and then you can browse your internal memory directly from the computer and then download them.
Best Regards,

Internal flash not working because of non compatible flash installed

Solution:
Look at the external flash socket.
With the camera in "normal position", i.e., poiting away from you, you shoul see a very small (I realy mean very small) piece of plastic under the rigth inside of the flash shoe... it is the "external flash sensor". It probably is stuck. Work with the point of a knife to try and release it.
In more detail, if you look carefully at the external flash shoe, the are two metal pieces that will help create some pressure. So the flash holder (shoe) is made of two parts: a very rigid one and the metal blades that create the pressure. Look under the blade located nearest to the shuter button.
If you can locate the plastic piece (black in my camera, but can be white) try to have unstuck.
Worked with my camera.
regards
Mig

Unable to install web cam on my laptop with already fiexed webcam

yes but you have to set primary camera control from control panel. if you are running windows OS then go to control panel and find "hardware and sound"

from there select:
device manager
expand applicable menu and disable the internal camera so that the primary camera used will run as the external installed camera. (this will need to be done after camera is installed)

USB Problem

hmmm external hard drive should work without any problem as windows xp allready have inbuilt drivers for mass-storage.

try to Uninstall the USB driver, goto Device manager and Uninstall USB, then reboot to clean system registry and install USB driver from Windows XP setup disck. and try the external-hard drive, xp should recognize your external-hard drive. If not then install driver for your drive if you have and try. for camera and ipos u need to install drivers and supporting softwares from your manufacturers.

thanks
