I have set up the speakers and on my PC control panel it says the speakers are connected, but when i play music on my PC (Sony vaio) the sound still come out of the PC not the speakers. do i need t change...

Try this. Go to the control panel in Windows (all versions) and select "Sound". Below you can see the sound control panel from my computer. See those greyed out ones they are inactive outputs that have been disabled. At the bottom is the speaker output. Depending on how your laptop is configured the output may need to be changed. Right click those available, and enable them, then select them one by one while playing a tune to see if one of them is the output connected to your computer speakers.

Sound coming through right headphone, but not through left. Sound also not coming through left speaker. Help?

are you adjusting sound through the windows controller or the application you're playing music through? there are a few things that could affect that, there's also the actual sound setup where you can change your setup i.e. surround sound, single speaker, headphones etc

I hear echo sound every time i play music/movie and i cant figure out to turn it off "how"

Does it happen with headphones in as well? If not, do you have a built-in-microphone? Sometimes the sound coming of the speakers can be picked up by the microphone, resulting in an echo sound. Make sure that the microphone is off (or test it by covering it up while playing some music), and quit out of any applications that are using it.
If you hear it in the headphones as well, it could be a sound card problem, which means it would need replacing. If you don't hear it in the headphones, but hear it in the speakers and don't have a mic, it's either your speakers, or (more likely) your computer just doesn't get along with whatever software you're using to play movies/music.

The laptop plays music, but no sound comes out of laptop speakers?

Try to use one head phone.if you are able to hear music then its the problem with your laptop speakers.
If you are not hearing, you need to check sound drivers.
For that, Right click on my computer and go to manage and click on device manager. jst check whether there is any yellow marks near the audio device..if its there you need to install the drivers..ok

Itunes music sounds distorted somtimes and not others

The fault is from your laptop speaker. I think it has a hole inside and maybe that's why it distorts. Or maybe the sound/volume is too loud and the speaker does not have the capacity.

I would advice you to get an external speaker for your laptop.

Take care.
