Insignia dvd/vcr combo progressive scan mode

How do I turn the progressive scan mode off on my insignia dvd/vcr combo. If I turn the dvd player on all it shows on the screen is a blue backgroud and the words "progressive scan mode" and I can't seem to get back to the player menu.

I have a 2-year-old model of Insignia NS-1DVDR dvd recorder.

I recently got verizon FIOS tv. The the tv cable is wired in following sequence:

wall to Motorola box to dvdr to TV

With the dvd recorder I started getting "Select Progressive Scan Mode" message and the corrective step of "holding down the STOP button without any dvd in the player" does not work - I have tried it with STOP button on the player as well as on the remote.

Turn off the progressive scan mode?

is this question about the progressive scan when going to dvd mode more than likely the switch to control your p scan is on the back of your vcr/dvd player near the center look on the back and flick the switch to off usually the switches are just black moving left and right if not go into your menu and look for progressive scan mode if its not directly on the menu it is more than likely in the settings folder. Also if your remote is like the one i posted just click the p.scan button

Hearing static while the dvd is playing how would i go about cleaning it

I have the Zenith XBV410 (combo dvd/vcr). I cleaned the lens using the Maxell Lens cleaner kit but nothing happened. Then I ran the Progressive Scan Mode and that seemed to do the trick. Word of caution: Progressive Scam Mode is difficult to turn off so would recommend you remove dvd from player, then press and hold the stop button for a min of 5 seconds up until whatever it takes to disablel PSM (Progressive Scan Mode)

I need to know how to get the progressive scan feature turned off so I can view DVD's.

Thanks for the progressive scan advice. I have a Go-Video DV1130 Combo I didnt have a DVD in the combo and I pressed and held the stop button on the combo instead of the remote and it came out of the progressive scan mode so maybe it works both ways? But anyway Thanks for the advice it sure helped me.

DVD player wont show picture

to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
