In this case wat u can do is on the Mp3 player itself u will see a slide switch which will say Hold/Unhold or Lock/Unlock............
Just make sure it is not Locked or On Hold and then try to charge it.........
Good Luck

I have just bought my player and have charged it. Now it shows do not disconnect. I am not familar with media players so I need lots of help.

Ok, you should not disconnect the player if any program using it is still running. It may cause damage to your player. Please close all the programs first and then disconnect it.

Hope this helps.

I WONT TURN ON

Sometimes unplugging your MP3 player will disrupt it's file system if 'Safely Remove Hardware' or 'Eject' is not used. Following these instructions for fixing your Coby Mp-610 MP3 Player will fix your MP3 players file system.

This player shows the "Do not disconnect" message when it is doing something critical such as transferring tracks or updating firmware, which could corrupt the player if disconnected part way through.

The player shows the "OK to disconnect" when it is idle. As the message says, it's ok to disconnect, as the player will not corrupt if disconnected when it is idle.

These messages mean that the player does not need the "Safe to remove" procedure.

It is ok to disconnect part way through charging. Also the player will condition the battery once it is fully charged, so it's ok to leave it charging.

Occassionally batteries can "memorise" when constantly disconnect and reconnected without fully charging and discharging. To help prevent this, fully discharge the player (leave on until dead) and fully charge and condition (leave charging for about 12 hours) every couple of weeks or so.
