Problems downloading the software

Once the software is almost finished,i get a pop-up warning that it's using an older version of windows and that this makes it unstable.i have windows xp.from there my computer goes haywire, the display icons get larger,it messes wth my wireless internet connection and then will not shut down.

Many times the older version drivers will work as new released operating systems try to be backwards compatible with software. Try loading the XP software or search the Canon website for updated software for your model.

Installation InstructionsNotes:
  • If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Determining which Version is Installed section.
Manual InstallThis section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading file]
  1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click Save.
  4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click Save. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting file]
  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
  3. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
  6. In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in step 9.
[Installing files]
  1. Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer
Finally delete the file saved in step 4.
Silent Install
This is for system administrators' use only.
  1. Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
  2. In the step 11 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
  3. At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -S option.

I need adobe flash installed. How do I Do that?


To install the latest version of Adobe flash player, kindly follow below instructions:
1. Open web browser(like IE, Mozilla, etc) and go to http://www.adobe.com
2. Click on "Downloads" section or tab
3. Once you are directed to the "Featured product downloads" section, click on the "Get ADOBE FLASH PLAYER" at the right side of the page.
4. You will then be directed to another page containing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (i.e. Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55). Version may change from time to time. If you do not want to install the Free Google Toolbar kindly uncheck the box that says "Yes, install Google Toolbar-optional "
5. Click on "Download Now". When you get the prompt or security warning window just click "Run". If you get another prompt asking "Do you want to run this software?" just click "Run" again.
6. When User Account Control dialog box appears, click "Yes".
7. Once installation is complete just click "Finish".

Close and re-open your Internet browser after installing Adobe Flash and your good to go. Hope this helps.

Insert cd, it should either auto run, where you may have to click on windows that pop up and "allow" until finished or, after inserting cd, a window will pop up where you will see "open file..."at the bottom of the window. Click on open file and a window will open with icons and files listed, find "auto run" and click on it. Follow prompts and allow pop up's to run. You should register and write down any info such as version, codes, or license codes(#'s). Restart

I'm trying to download Adobe Flash Player. I am unable to complete download as I get an error reading The ActiveX Control for Flash Player could not be registered. Unsure what this means or how to fix it....

Pinnacle Studio Plus version 10 Keeps Crashing


If you are getting any type of error message or warning message (except a fatal crash message), then , click here to see the FAQ titled "Studio Launch error/warning messages" to resolve these issues. For a fatal crash or any type of lockup/freezing while launching, continue with this FAQ, below.
If Studio was launching for some period of time and then it stopped launching, it is best to try to determine what changes have been made to the computer recently and undo the changes to see if it has an affect on the problem. Here's a short list of what could affect Studio's ability to launch:
  • A Studio patch was applied but it didn't install properly
  • The graphics driver was updated
  • Hardware was installed
We recommend using Windows XP System Restore. You can obtain more information on how System Restore works from the Microsoft web site at:

Troubleshooting steps for Studio hangs or crashing while launching (starting)
1. RESTART THE COMPUTER. Try restarting the computer
2. WAIT A FEW MINUTES: If Studio still won't launch, wait a few minutes to let it finish launching. We have noticed on some computers that it may take a little while for Studio to completely launch. Studio 10 users click here to see the FAQ on this.
3. LATEST VERSION OF STUDIO. There was a launch problems in previous versions of Studio 10 that are now fixed in the latest version. When troubleshooting any problem, it is always best to be on the latest version of the software.
If you have Studio version 12, download the latest version here.

If you have Studio version 11, download the latest version here.

If you have Studio version 10, download the latest version here .

Note: Studio 11 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 11. Studio 10 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 10. Etc.

If you have an older version of Studio (Studio 9 or 10, etc), it is advised for you to update to the current Studio software. The current version is Studio 12. Click Here to go to the Studio 12 Upgrade page.

How to download and install a patch:
  • When downloading the patch make a note of where it is being saved to. We recommend saving the patch to the desktop.
  • Before installing the patch, make sure that you do not have any other programs running. Studio must not be running.
  • Once it is fully downloaded, double-click on the patch to begin the installation.
  • Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the installation. Reboot the computer after applying the patch.

4. SAFE MODE: Try launching Studio in Safe mode. In Safe mode, many device drivers and applications do not load. If Studio will launch in safe mode, then the issue is most likely a configuration problem with your computer. NOTE: We do not recommend using Studio in Safe Mode. This step is for testing purposes only. To start in Safe mode:
  • Shut down the computer
  • When you turn it back on, tap the F8 key every couple seconds until a menu pops up. (If the XP splash screen appears, the F8 keys was pressed too late so restart the computer and try this step again)
  • On the menu, choose Safe Mode, and then press the Enter key
  • Launch Studio
If you need help starting in Safe mode, you can click here to get information on Microsoft's web site
If Studio won't launch in Safe mode, then Studio many not be installed properly or the install may be corrupt. We recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Studio.

Software driver


i had the same problem with my camera too but i emailed the manufacter and this is what they sent me:
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Digital Blue. Please unplug the camera from your computer and follow the steps below.
  1. Open the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on 'Command Prompt' and select "Run As Administrator...".
  2. This will bring up a window saying 'Windows needs your permission to continue', please click on the 'Continue' button.
  3. When the DOS window opens, type in (without the quotes):
    'cd c:\windows\system32'
  4. The above should change the command prompt to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32:.
  5. Now, type in (without the quotes): 'regsvr32 vbscript.dll'
    (dll = dynamic link library)
  6. You should see a window pop up stating 'DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.'
  7. Please insert the software CD with version 2.2.0 into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.
  8. This will bring up the auto-play for the install, please follow the prompts to go through the installation.
  9. The install consists of three different software packages, you should see the Pix 2.2, Pix Loader or Pix Micro Downloader, and the DB CIF Cam being installed.
  10. If you receive an error after the Pix 2.2 install, you will need to download the drivers and Downloader program from our website at http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html You will need to select the 'Disney Pix Micro Downloader' and 'Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN Vista'.
  11. Once you have installed the drivers and downloader program you will be asked to restart your computer. After the computer has been restarted, plug the camera into the USB port and look to see that the computer says the drivers have been installed.
  12. Open the Pix Loader or Disney Pix Micro Downloader from your Desktop or from the All Programs list and click on the Download button. If you have a 'Pixel Up' window pop up, click OK, and wait for the download to finish. A 'Delete' button will come up on the Downloader program which will indicate the download has been completed.
  13. You can view the photos by going to 'My Pictures' > 'My Snapshots' or using the Pix 2.2 editing software.
