I would like to change my password

Change an Internet Password

Use a bookmark, a known URL, or a search engine to find the password-protected website you are looking for.

Input your username (also called an online ID or user ID).

Look for a link that says "Forgot your password?" or something like "reset password," "reset passcode" or "password help." Click that link.

The website may require you to fill out fields with information about yourself and your account, in order to verify your identity.

If it does, submit the required information.
The website will then allow you to input a new password.

Type a password that conforms to the website's password requirements (for example, the page may indicate that the password has to contain both letters and numerals or that it has to contain a certain number of characters).

You probably will be asked to confirm that password by retyping it in a second field.
Change Administrator password using DOS Command
Use dos comand
The administrator account on a Windows machine is the main, root user name that gives full access to the machine.

Administrators should change this password frequently to avoid unauthorized access to the domain or desktop machine.

This can be done in the Windows Control Panel, or use the "net user" command in the Windows DOS prompt.

Log in to the machine using the administrator username and password.
You can also use an account that has administrator privileges on the domain or desktop computer.

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" or "Start Search" (depending on your version of Windows).

In the text box displayed, enter "cmd" and press the "OK" button.
This opens the command prompt window.

Type "net user administrator <new password>" into the command prompt.
Replace "<new password>" with the password you want to set.

Enter the password again for confirmation.
Once you enter it again, the administrator password has been changed.

Test the new password by rebooting the machine and logging in with the new administrator password.

Effective use of Keychain Access in Mac OS X

One of Apple's unique and not as well known built-in utilities, Keychain Access, does not receive the credit it is due. This can be attributed to the sometimes poor reputation that Keychain has gained amongst Mac Users as more of a nuisance, than of value. This can also be credited more to lack of user understanding and ignorance of the features and benefits of Keychain Access.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Here are some of the great benefits of Keychain Access---
* It stores all of your most common passwords for logins, applications, websites, web forms, wireless servers, FTP servers and a wide variety of other services.

* It allows the you to also keep track of more advanced secure features such as manage secure root certificates, keys and secure notes.

* Keychain Access also has an easy to follow graphical user interface which allows you to view, edit, modify and delete any passwords.

* Keychain also has a good repair feature, the Keychain First Aid utility, which can repair damaged or issues with current keychains.

With Keychain Access, especially in regards to websites you frequently visit and which require login authentication, Keychain works well, remembering your user name and passwords for those particular websites.

Of course this feature may only appeal to a select number of Mac users, but if you are one of those who does not like to put in user name and passwords to the websites you visit most, then this is definitely a benefit
for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Forgot a Password? Open up Keychain Access and retrieve it!--

One of my favorite features of Keychain Access, is using the password retrieval process. Sometime you will encounter issues where the password you have always been accessing to open your favorite application or website, is somehow mysteriously or even accidentally removed. What makes matters worse, is you forgot the password!

But have no fear, Keychain Access is here!
All you need to do is follow these steps below and you can locate and retrieve your password in no time.

For this example I am using a scenario where I have lost my password to my gmail email account which I now need to reactivate my Google Notifier Service for a specific gmail email account I frequently use.

* I first make sure Finder is showing on the Apple menu bar. You can do this by just clicking on any blank space on your desktop.

* Now from the Finder menu bar, select Go > Utilities. This will open the Utilities folder.

99abb53.png

* Once in the Utilities folder, locate the Keychain Access icon and launch it.
dca37e2.png

Once the application launches, it will open to this main window.
Notice I have already highlighted my desired application, for password retrieval, "Google Service Google Notifier".

56bd2e6.png

* Next, to access this window here, I will have to double click on that line above in main Keychain Access window.

* I will then go to the bottom of this screen and select the check box
for "Show password"

f73562e.png

When I do this, a small window like this appears asking for my
permission to reveal confidential information for this service.

Of course I want to, so now the password I would use is
the one for my User Administrator login account for this Mac OS X user account I am currently in.

***This is a very important step, because you do need to remember your User Administrator password, in order to successfully complete a password retrieval process.****

Now if you cannot recall your User Administrator password, you will have to click this link to get that password reset and start this process with the newly reset User Administrator password, all over again.
*************************************************************************************
For resetting your User Administrator password, Click here
*************************************************************************************

* If you do recall your User Administrator password however, you
would do as I do now and enter it in the open dialog box and click the "Allow"button.

1e9dafd.png

* Within seconds this window will come to the front, now
revealing my password for this Google Notifier Service.

60eabc6.png

Now I can use the retrieved password to re-activate my Google Notifer service.

It really is that simple.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Finally, A Little Workaround ..--

On the troubleshooting side of Keychain, there is one little workaround, that you can take advantage of when you keep getting that same pesky pop-up window which appears when you are attempting to access your email account in Mac OS X Mail application

dcfb08c.png

or if visiting a secure site requiring a password on the Safari web browser for example and there is an issue with the password, you will also see this
same window.

To correct this, you can remove a select file in your User Library which will remove this recurring pop up window. The catch however, is the removal of this file will remove all your keychains currently in the your Keychain Access file. Everything. It is worth it, if you don't mind having to re-enter your user names and passwords, to your most frequented websites, applications or other services.

Here's what you have to do:

Open a new Finder window and select the Library folder.
* Next, locate and open the folder entitled "Keychains"
* Remove from this folder the file entitled "login.keychain"to the Trash.
(-- This is the main file which holds all of your current keychains--)

* Now attempt to access your email account through the Mac OS X Mail application or that secure webpage via Safari,

* You will see that Keychain window pop up once more, but this time, enter your password for your User Administrator account for your Mac OS X system. Make sure to click the "Remember this in my keychain" check box.

Now Keychain Access will remember your access to that application or website without that pesky pop up message appearing on your desktop screen.

There are alot more features within Keychain Access application, but the purpose of this tip, is just to make sure you have the basics down and to now hopefully see that there are true benefits to using Keychains in your Mac OS X environment- you just need a little tip on getting started.

What is the Registry?

The Registry is a database used to store settings and options for the 32 bit versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows 95, 98, ME and NT/2000. It contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the PC. Whenever a user makes changes to a Control Panel settings, or File Associations, System Policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in the Registry.

The physical files that make up the registry are stored differently depending on your version of Windows; under Windows 95 & 98 it is contained in two hidden files in your Windows directory, called USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT, for Windows Me there is an additional CLASSES.DAT file, while under Windows NT/2000 the files are contained seperately in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Config directory. You can not edit these files directly, you must use a tool commonly known as a "Registry Editor" to make any changes (using registry editors will be discussed later in the article).

The Structure of The Registry
The Registry has a hierarchal structure, although it looks complicated the structure is similar to the directory structure on your hard disk, with Regedit being similar to Windows Explorer.

Each main branch (denoted by a folder icon in the Registry Editor, see left) is called a Hive, and Hives contains Keys. Each key can contain other keys (sometimes referred to as sub-keys), as well as Values. The values contain the actual information stored in the Registry. There are three types of values; String, Binary, and DWORD - the use of these depends upon the context.

There are six main branches, each containing a specific portion of the information stored in the Registry. They are as follows:

* HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - This branch contains all of your file association mappings to support the drag-and-drop feature, OLE information, Windows shortcuts, and core aspects of the Windows user interface.
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER - This branch links to the section of HKEY_USERS appropriate for the user currently logged onto the PC and contains information such as logon names, desktop settings, and Start menu settings.
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - This branch contains computer specific information about the type of hardware, software, and other preferences on a given PC, this information is used for all users who log onto this computer.
* HKEY_USERS - This branch contains individual preferences for each user of the computer, each user is represented by a SID sub-key located under the main branch.
* HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG - This branch links to the section of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE appropriate for the current hardware configuration.
* HKEY_DYN_DATA - This branch points to the part of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, for use with the Plug-&-Play features of Windows, this section is dymanic and will change as devices are added and removed from the system.

Each registry value is stored as one of five main data types:

* REG_BINARY - This type stores the value as raw binary data. Most hardware component information is stored as binary data, and can be displayed in an editor in hexadecimal format.
* REG_DWORD - This type represents the data by a four byte number and is commonly used for boolean values, such as "0" is disabled and "1" is enabled. Additionally many parameters for device driver and services are this type, and can be displayed in REGEDT32 in binary, hexadecimal and decimal format, or in REGEDIT in hexadecimal and decimal format.
* REG_EXPAND_SZ - This type is an expandable data string that is string containing a variable to be replaced when called by an application. For example, for the following value, the string "%SystemRoot%" will replaced by the actual location of the directory containing the Windows NT system files. (This type is only available using an advanced registry editor such as REGEDT32)
* REG_MULTI_SZ - This type is a multiple string used to represent values that contain lists or multiple values, each entry is separated by a NULL character. (This type is only available using an advanced registry editor such as REGEDT32)
* REG_SZ - This type is a standard string, used to represent human readable text values.

Other data types not available through the standard registry editors include:

* REG_DWORD_LITTLE_ENDIAN - A 32-bit number in little-endian format.
* REG_DWORD_BIG_ENDIAN - A 32-bit number in big-endian format.
* REG_LINK - A Unicode symbolic link. Used internally; applications should not use this type.
* REG_NONE - No defined value type.
* REG_QWORD - A 64-bit number.
* REG_QWORD_LITTLE_ENDIAN - A 64-bit number in little-endian format.
* REG_RESOURCE_LIST - A device-driver resource list.

Forgot myblackberry id pass word

It is wise to set a password on your BlackBerry, just as you would on a laptop or PC.
After all, BlackBerry devices are similar to small personal computers.

They contain loads of information including files, phone numbers, dates and emails.
But when you forget your password you are presented with a tough situation the device will have to be completely reset to allow you to create a new one.

Come to terms with the fact that in order to reset your forgotten BlackBerry password you will lose all of the data on your phone.

A password reset wipes the device clean as a way to protect your information in case the phone is stolen it is a tight security measure that is built into BlackBerry phones.

Type in the incorrect password. The BlackBerry will tell you how many more tries you have to enter the wrong password before it resets (you usually have between three and ten tries total.)

Continue entering the wrong password.
You may be prompted to enter the word "blackberry" a few times to continue this is to make sure that you (or a child ) aren't accidentally and unknowingly typing in the wrong password.

Allow the device to reset itself and shut down.
Try to restart the BlackBerry.

If nothing loads, the application software was removed as well and you should proceed to the next step.
If you see your normal screen, proceed to the last step below.

Connect the device to your computer via your USB cord (this comes with your phone) and load the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (if you don't have it download it at na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop).

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=A2C0D61EB187AB3AFD247A852FAD3647

Click "Application Loader" then "Add/Remove Applications."
Select "BlackBerry System Software" (along with any other applications you want to download to your phone) and then "Next."

Verify the list of applications you want to download on the next screen and click "Finish." Allow the Blackberry software to reinstall.
Enter a new password under "Options" then "Password" (or the similar choice) on your BlackBerry. http://www.bbhub.com/2006/10/27/heres-how-to-reset-your-blackberry-password/
BlackBerry Username & Password

Adding an email to your BlackBerry might require you to log in to your BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service).

Some providers allow you to enter your email password in lieu of setting up a BIS account, but you will not be able to access BIS services anywhere but on your BlackBerry phone.

Once you create a username or password, it cannot be easily changed, but recovery is not impossible if you have forgotten.

To use BlackBerry's website to recover a lost password, navigate to BlackBerry.com, click on "Owner's Lounge" and log in in with your email and password.

Click on "Support & Services" at the top menu inside the Owner's Lounge. A new page will open.

On the menu choices at the left, choose "BlackBerry 101" and the click on "BlackBerry Smartphone Setup".

Click on "Email Setup" in the menu choices in the middle of the screen. At the bottom, you will see a list of wireless service providers.

Click on your provider to access their BIS Web page.
Most providers also offer this link on their website.

This will open the BlackBerry Internet Service page for your service provider. For a forgotten user name, click the link beside "username" labeled "Require Assistance?".

This will provide you with information on how to contact your provider to recover your user name. This usually requires resetting your user name.

Try to choose a user name that is easy to remember and write it down somewhere safe.
Click the link labeled "Forgot Password" to recover your password.

A new page will open with two options to have your password sent to you.
If you know your BIS user name, insert it in the top space labeled "User name".

Alternatively, you can insert your BlackBerry PIN (located inside "Options" and "Status" on your BlackBery).

Click "Request Password," and it will be sent directly to your BlackBerry.

To create an Autorun-enabled CD-ROM, proceed as follows:
  • Create an Autorun.inf File
Autorun.inf is a text file that is located in the root folder of your application CD-ROM. It provides to the computer the name and the location of the startup program for your application that is installed when the CD-ROM is inserted. The Autorun.inf file can also contain optional information including the following:
  • The name of a file that contains an icon that represents your application's CD-ROM drive. This icon appears in Windows Explorer instead of the standard drive icon.
  • Additional commands for the shortcut menu that appears when the user right-clicks the CD-ROM icon. You can also specify the default command that runs when the user double-clicks the icon. Autorun.inf files are similar to .ini files.
  • The [autorun] section contains the default Autorun commands. All Autorun.inf files must have an [autorun] section.
  • icon: Specifies the path and the file name of an application-specific icon for the CD-ROM drive.
  • open: Specifies the path and the file name of the startup application.

Autorun.infThe following is an example of a simple Autorun.inf file. It specifies Filename.exe as the startup application. The second icon represents the CD-ROM drive instead of the standard drive icon.
