Repairclinic.com has a comprehensive parts diagram for almost any machine. A dryer with no heat is a very common problem, there are several thermostats and safety cutoffs that can make dryers not heat. Thankfully they are reletivly easy to diagnose. All you need are some basic hand tools and most important, an ohm meter. Most of the time all the thermostats will be in one section of the cabinet (top, bottom, back) to test them, make sure the power is OFF, unplug the wires from the thermostat(s) and put one lead of the ohm meter on each connector, if it shows anything put 'ol' or open line, your thermostat should be good. Keep going until you find the faulty one. If all thermostats test good, try testing the element(s). the element is tested in the same manner as the thermostats, if it tests bad, replace it and enjoy doing laundry!!

Dryer wont stop

if when you open the door and the dryer keeps running you have a broken door switch part 3406105 go here and look at part number 41
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Dryer-Parts/Model-11076712691/0582/0151200/10051141/00002?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=11076712691

open the door, look at the right top, there should be a paddle there that if you push in on it you should hear a clicking sound,if not switch is bad.now if you mean that it won't stop when it goes to off then you could have a bad timer part number 3976577 and it's around 100 dollars

go here and it's part 3 on diagram, try it on timed dry and auto cycle and see if it stops on either cycles

Hi Ginko. I have a Kenmore dryer model 11086810100 that has some wires removed from inside. The only HOT I can find is the red wire. I have 2 wires that have femals push-on crimped terminals, but I have no...

Hi Robert.

Thanks for the pics. I operate in UK and color codes here are different.
From what I can see the wiring in your picture does not match the US standard either.
The thermal fuse for example should have two blue terminals, not red and blue. The thermal fuse wires goes on one side to start, and on the other to the drive motor through the broken belt switch (if present).
The wiring at the blower must be revised and done again.

Here a service manual covering Kenmore 70 series dryers.

There is a wiring diagram at page 25.

Here a picture showing correct wiring: http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/attachments/sears-kenmore/3298d1196129125-kenmore-dryer-model-110-86870100-wont-heat-ldrwp-checkpoints.jpg

About the red and yellow cable, the only red yellow wire in the diagram operates the switch for the guard function. The wire becomes hot and powers the motor when the guard switch is closed.

Need to know were the fuses are located. the dryer runs but does not have heat.

Rathen than looking for fuses, it sounds more like your heating element is burned out.

Dryer wont start

Okay...your dryer is one of the more easier dryers to access the heating circuits. All you have to do is unplug the dryer and remove the back panel. The heating circuits will be on the right hand side (as viewed from the rear). The heating element is inserted inside the heater box with the thermal cut-out (TCO) mounted on the top portion of the heat box. The hi-limit thermostat will be located adjacent to the heating element ceramic terminals. You mentioned a thermal fuse also. It is a small white plastic (sometimes gray) looking component mounted on the blower fan housing on the lower left hand side of the dryer (as viewed from the rear).

If the dryer does not run at all, the THERMAL FUSE is a good diagnosis on your part.

If the dryer runs, but does not heat, the THERMAL CUT-OUT, heating element or hi-limit thermostat are your likely problems.

The following link provides you with some necessary guidelines on how to troubleshoot if needed:

Most dryer problems are related to overheating caused by poor ventilation, or overloading. If you need a drawing of your dryer heat components you can reference searspartsdirect.com. Just type in the model number you provided (include the prefix "110", this identifies the manufacturer as Whirlpool). The number should be written as follows: 110.66801691. Look under the "Bulkhead" heading for an exploded view diagram of your dryer. The Thermal Fuse is listed as item 59 (part #3392519). I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

Kenmore gas dryer model #76812690 will not heat.

does the dryer heat initially when you first turn on the dryer Or no heat at all?

the first thing i would check is tthe thermal fuse thats located on the back of the unit. test it with a multimeter and see if it has continuity, if it doesnt then replace that and your operating thermostat. the check to be sure you venting to the outside of your house is not clogged
