The top bottens lighten up but nothing shows up on the screen. why wont it change the channels
Melissa,
I am sorry to hear that you are having remote issues. Let's start with the simpleist things first. If you have a dual tuner ensure you have the right remote for the room you are in and then ensure you have the remote in SAT mode by pressing the top left SAT button. If this fails to operate the receiver and you have a menu button on the receiver press it twice. If your receiver does not have this button press the power off button and hold the channel up/down button at the same time. Releaase the power off button while holding the channel up/down button. You should be brought to the system info screen. Check the remote address for the receiver location you are at. Now press and hold the SAT button until all buttons on top light up. Now key in the two digit remote address number from the system info screen and press the pound key. The SAT button will flash three times. Now press the record button and see if you now have control over the receiver. If the remote is for a TV2 location ensure the antenna on the back of the receiver is elevated. If this is a TV2 remte and you are still having no suceess and it work previously and it no longer works at the receiver location or TV2 you will need a service call to determine if the antenna port burned out. This is a very rare case and you will more than likely need a new remote. If the remote is for TV2 and it works at the receiver but not TV2 you will need someone to pigtail the antenna or in other words move the antenna closer to the TV2 location. I hope this solves your issue. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

i have the same program. The guide buttons works for the satellite, but I cannot change the channels, it's just frozen there. Anyone have any suggestions
I have the same problem on a Dish Network 510 Receiver.... temporarily, I have to "double click" to change channels. New batteries and still it doesn't work like it should.
So far, I have not been able to get Dish Tech support to call back from their webpage. Very frustrating.
