I/o error occurred. Process aborted pops up

I have a FinePix Z20fd and when I try to download my photos to the computer using FinePix Viewfinder, a i/o error occurred. Process aborted pops up. I tried uninstalling the viewfinder program and reinstalling it, but it does the same thing.

The Windows error "I/O Device Error" means there is an error in the computer's ability to read data when you try to install a program or to copy data from your device such as a CD Rom, external hard drive or digital camera. To resolve this issue, try connecting the camera to a different USB port. Also try to uninstall and reinstall the driver. If both suggestions fail, we would recommend trying it on a different computer to see if the camera is defective. If it works on another computer with no problems, the issue may be with the computer. We would recommend a Windows update or contacting your computer manufacture for further assistance. A simple solution that many other users try is a card reader.

I had the same problem, whenever i connected my camera with a USB it would say "I/O error occured. process aborted."

what worked for me was taking out the memory card and directly inserting it into the computer rather than connecting via a USB cord. hope this helps!

also, the technical support at fujifilm were of no help.

When i connect the camra with the computer it says ''Error occurred. Process aborted''

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.

I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.

Everytime i plug my camera in, an i/o error occurs. i have a fujifilm finepix z20fd

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Error message when I try to download photos to my laptop

Did you install the drivers from the CD which came with your camera???. The drivers must be installed, before you can connect your camera to your laptop. If not follow these steps in sequence

1- Use the CD to install the drivers. If you do not have the CD, please go to fuji web site and download it. Here is the link

http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital/download/01/index.html

2- After installing the drivers, connect your camera to your laptop, turn it on and follow the screen to install the drivers.

3- After it is finished (ready) , click on start, then computer. If the drivers was installed correctely, you would see an icon with all or part of fuji Finepix s9000. Double click on that icon.

4- You would see one or more folders, which contain all of the pictures and/or videos stored in your camera.

Now you could download, copy, delete etc all of your stored pictures.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

I get the message I/O error occurred, process aborted.

First of all, you do not need Finepix viewer.
Make sure the USB cable is properly connected to camera and PC.
Ensure that you have installed the driver for the s5000 if you do not have Windows XP.
Then select "view"
and the pictures taken should be copied to any photo prgram you select.
or try a different cable if this does not work.
