Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Sharp X-Flat 32f630 cuts off screen. All sides are slightly cut off so I do not get the full picture. It is extremely annoying when I try to read text at the top or bottom, but can't because it's cut off 3/4 of the way. How do I fix this? I want the full picture.

It might be due to some wrong settings to digital channels. Check this link to know more about the proper settings.

SOURCE: picture is cut off at top and bottom

I had the same problem with my westinghouse 47 inch HDTV. It turned out that someone had inadvertently hit the "format" key on my satellite (Direct TV) TV remote controller. If you have satellite TV you might want to check this out. I set it back to the previous setting and I get the entire screen. Hope this helps someone.

My screen does not cover the whole screen. It is not on widescreen mode, but it is a shortened picture and some of what I am watching is cut off.

A lot depends on what the TV station cuts off also.
If they are transmitting a 5 X 4 picture, your TV will try an reproduce it giving cut off edges or top and bottom. It won,t fit properly.
Hope that helps to explain it.

Picture is cut off on sides of screen

What's the resolution of your display?
There's a display ratio selection option in Menu. try selecting unselected options in it and check.

There might be a picture adjustment option in menu. try that too.

My picture is zoomed in. Cannot go back to 'normal' and see everything. Credit names, etc are cut off on both sides.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check your cable box settings first. Sometimes the remotes have a picture size button on them, and someone might have pressed that by accident. Check the TV settings, press Menu Button & then go to Window/Image size. Now select Full Size.

Also check the settings of the converter box (if you are using it). The boxes also have a peculiar problem: Unless users manually change settings from show to show, the picture from many stations either won’t fill the screen, or it will be so big that part of the picture is cut off by the edges of the screen. The solution is to press the “zoom” button on the remote that comes with the converter box. That will expand the picture so it fills the screen.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Sound level & Picture size

The screen height is easy, just press the "view mode" button on the controller and change the scaling thru that. As for sound I'm not sure on that, as I can hear mine just fine, plus I use a surround sound system.
