Hi There, my hard drive is not showing up on pc. For awhile I was able to turn it on/off the HD, and restart the PC and it worked. Now it wont appear at all. Blue LED flashes. It sounds fine when it is starting up and it works on other PC's.Please Help. Thank You in advance.
you external hard drive may not be supported by the PS3 system.
use the link below to PlayStation Knowledge center and read about all the supported storage media.

A continuous flashing light on a Lacie drive is a notification of a problem. I do wonder if the light is flashing the same if the drive is plugged in to the Mac or unplugged.
Lacie external drives tend to have power-supplies which become weak/bad. Most users replace the supply and it will work again for awhile until the supply dies again. Try bringing the drive to a retail dealer with Lacie drives -ask them if you can just test your drive with another power-supply (if you do not have another). You can also try calling Lacie, it's always slightly possible they will be aware of this problem.
Alternately, IF the light is only flashing when the drive is plugged-in to the computer, try using a different USB or Firewire cable.

I have the same issue, however with my verbatim 500g its ok. i believe it is because the lacie is a desktop external and therefore is compatable with windows xp and 7 alone.
Verbatim is a "portable" external hard drive which makes it compatible with several different systems. I would suggest returning it, I just formatted my old verbatim harddrive and set up mediaasharing. Through my router. You can actually route the lacie harddrive by going to my computer and right click the icon. Next go to share with; advanced settings and allow all. Then when you turn your ps3 on search for media servers... I would suggest to google media server for ps3 to get it all seet up. GOOD LUCK
