Sometimes the backup battery has to charge first. Leave it plugged in overnight. If that does not work get a new battery.

Take out battery & AC adapter plug. Wait 10 minutes.

Plug in AC adapter without the battery. Power on the laptop. If it works, put in the battery when laptop is running.

Not powering up. The LED power light is just flashing when the battery is in.when the battery is taken out it remains lighted up but goes out when the power switch is pressed.

Try draining the static of the computer.

Turn off the system
remove the AC Adapter and all 3rd party devices if there is?
Remove the battery
press and hold the power button for 1 minute
then,
plugged back in the AC Adapter and battery
turned on the computer

I have a hp g6000 power coes on but screen is

1. If you have it plugged to a power adapter it could be that the AC adapter is not charging the battery.
2. Try removing the battery with the AC adapter plug in and see if the PC will. if so then you may need a new battery.
3. You will need to get new AC adapter and battery frome the manufacturer or authorized dealer. Third party device are not recommended because they usually are not up to specifications.
I hope this helps.

Hi I have a acer aspire 1694WLMi laptop which doesn't charge fully. Also when the ac adapter is connected the screen keeps flashing between battery mode and ac mode.

The source of the problem obviously is either the AC power cord or the battery, or it could be a combination of the two. In terms of the symptoms you describe, it could be a faulty AC cord. This could involve a few possiblities: loose connection between the AC plug and the AC adapter unit, a loose connection between the mini plug (the part that goes into your laptop) and the AC adapter unit, or the AC unit itself could be going bad.

Not sure how intermittent the flashing between battery and ac mode is. If you're talking very frequent such as once every minute or so, I would be suspicious of either the plug (both AC and input to laptop sides) or the connections between the AC adapter portion and the plug. Not sure how long you've had the laptop and cord, but it is possible that the cord has somehow worn out. This wearing out can be accelerated if you often use the AC cord and there is tension on it.

One finally suggestion of course is to either try a new cord. You can often find them on e-bay and can even purchase used ones for a cheap price. If you do, you will then obviously be able to confirm that the cord was the problem. One might think or say the battery is not charging fully and is the problem. True, the battery may be a problem, but the root cause may be the cord.

Good luck!

Sony Vaio PCG 7v2l won't turn on

this may or may not be the solution but its some sort of indication of what is going on. Ok when you plug the ac adapter do u get a flashing light to indicate your batter is being charged? If you do then there is power going through the laptop to the battery, which is great. Now if you don't have the indicator flashing then it could be that the where the AC adapter plugs to the laptop could be now faulty. The other one could be that the AC adapter plug i.e. head that goes into the laptop some how internally has a severed connection.

comment on what you find and ill see what else i can advice :)

I have a hp 6735s laptop that i bought recently and when the adapters not plugged in the screen keeps going bright for a second then dull how do i stop this?

So you mean the screen goes dimmer when you remove the AC POWER ADAPTER?

If so, then this is due to the POWER SAVER mode that most laptops use for when not plugged into AC.

In control panel (if using XP) there should be a POWER MANAGMENT or BATTERY MANAGEMENT icon or section. In here there are usually settings for what you want the laptop to do with regard to power under different scenarios (ie. No adapter, with adapter, etc).

In the settings there should be an option to turn off power saving mode when the AC adapter is not plugged in.

My dell d600 wont come on even when i put the charger on

If the system shows no power indication when trying to power on or if you get only a momentary flash of the Power LED, then it goes off, the first point to check is the AC Adapter. If possible, try a known good adapter from another D-Series Dell. Check the LED on the AC adapter to see if it is ON before connecting it to the system. If it is and it goes out when you plug it to the system.

If the LED goes out and no other adapter is available, then I'd start with a new AC Adapter. (If you have no known good adapter available, you might try taking it to best buy and see if they can connect the system to a known good there to see if it powers on).

If replacing the AC Adapter does not resolve your issue, the motherboard is the next component to replace.

HP DV9000 Display Works with battery not AC almost

Have you checked whether the Power Adapter of your Notebook is a 65 Watt or 90 Watt ??

If you are connecting a 65 Watt adapter with the Notebook, try wiht a 90 watt one from any other Notebook if available..

Notebooks with Nvidia Graphic card need a 90 Watt Power adapter to supply the adaquent power required for the Graphic Card and a 65 Watt adapter may not be able to supply the required power.

NO POWER AT ALL

Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. With the AC adapter unplugged from the system, plug it into the wall, see if the power LED comes on. If it does, plug it into the system and see if it goes out. If the LED never comes on, or goes out when connected to the system, replace the AC adapter.

If the LED stays one, see if the system will power on and give any indications of power at all (Flashing Caps Lock, Scrool Lock, Num Lock LEDs) If no power indication with a good ac adapter connected, then the motherboard is the next item to replace.

Either item listed above can prevent the battery from charging. So the battery is the last item I'd replace unless the system turns on with the battery out of the system.
