Since this heater was only purchased last year, if it is faulty they should cover it under warrantee. If you call Hayward technical support they should be able to help you figure out what the next step is. I hope this helps.

HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT

I have very little heat in my '97 Dakota, but I did last year too. I haven't backwashed my heater core this year, which worked great last year and got me through the entire winter season. If you haven't done that to see if it will help, I would defenitely do it. It takes like 15 minutes total time to do it. This is far easier than pulling the dash out and replacing the heater core. Hope that would help, if not sorry. Changing the heater core is one problem I don't even want to ask my mechanic to tackle and he is a very great friend of mine.

Should be covered alright. Sounds like the defrost therostat is open. Is you defrost heater coming on. It doesn't seam like it is. As you frig runs it's cycle it will turn off the compressor every hour or so and the timer will turn on the heater in your freezer to defrost. Do you feel this heater coming on. If you therostate mounted on the defrost ellement fails to close then your heater will not come on and ice will build up in you freezer. These thermostates seam to be failing more and more these days. I've replaced mine 3 times over the last few years.

there must be some leak on the fuel lines, might as well change the sparkplugs to have an efficient fuel burning, you may be flooding too much fuel. hope this helps

my 86 ranger heater core was behind the glove box, not to hard to replace, remove two hoses and access cover.
speedocable connects behind instrument panel and to the side of transmission. (electrical ones are easier, just a small component on the side of trans.)
i think you mean FUEL gauge? there is a sending unit inside the fuel tank (sometimes fuel level sending unit is combined with the fuel pump) buy yourself a Haynes manual #36071
