I ran a cycle and it appeared to run fine. Now I ran a Clean Cycle and I am getting the LF (Long Fill) message again.

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 11, 2013

Unplug the machine. Turn off water supply taps. Loosen hose at the machine until they relax. Remove hoses and clean the screens on the inlet water valve. They can become crudded up with lime and other debris. Use a toothbrush and spray bottle to flush the crud out. Before reattaching hoses check the pressure from your taps. Hold the hose ends over a bucket or the tub of washer and turn on taps. If water pressure is not good check if problem is in the hose or water supply line. Reattach hoses hand tight and then 1/4 turn more with pliers. Do not overtighten. Do not use teflon tape. Do not crossthread. Give it a try.

  • Jeff Marcks Jan 12, 2013

There did not appear to be any build up on either intake. The pressure is good from the taps too. I did run the Rinse/Drain cycle again and it seems to have run through the cycle for now. I am going to attempt running another load to see what happens and I will let you know. Thank you for taking the time to assist me. Jeff

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 12, 2013

Jeff could you give me the full model number of your machine. My mind was picturing an electric drain pump and suddenly i'm not so sure. If i had a model number i can make sure we are on the same page, so to speak. Thanks.

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 12, 2013

Hey and when you are checking that model number (i think it's under the lid) if your tub is empty, reach in and give it a spin. It should purr and coast to a stop. There should be no dragging hitches or sounds. Try it both ways and do a good hard spin and an easy barely a spin. Basically we are listening for a sock stuck between your basket and tub. Thanks.

  • Jeff Marcks Jan 12, 2013

Model # is 110.27072601. I did a spin on the tub and there are no hitches or sounds, but it feels wobbly when I spun it.

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 12, 2013

Place a hand on each side of the opening so that your fingers can reach the tub lip. Now see if you feel and can see a definite wobble.

  • Jeff Marcks Jan 12, 2013

No it did not wobble. It must have been the plastic outer tub and not the stainless agitator (for lack of knowledge of actual part names)

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 12, 2013

No wobble is good. It sounds like you may be in good shape. But you might check that the drain hose that goes to the standpipe (your house plumbing) is inserted no more than 4 - 5".

  • B.H. Countryman Jan 12, 2013

Just in case you don't have one here is the owner's manual for your machine: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir... The last one is the one you'd want.

Time remaining is not always correct. The machine adjusts it's cycle times for various load conditions, but the display doesn't adjust. Instead it just stays where it was when the machine started making the adjustment. An example would be if you don't use high efficiency (he) detergent. What happens is that regular detergent creates too many suds. When the machine drains the water emptys first leaving a layer of suds. The pump can't move suds because of it's poor design. Try to imagine a hose filled with suds with a small impeller at one end. The impeller can pull the suds immediately around it away but anything out of it's reach will just sit there till they pop.

Likewise, the pressure switch can't detect a lack of pressure because the suds (being ornery little clusters of air) sit in the space that should be occupied by water, or in this case no water. Fooling in effect, the pressure switch into behaving as if the tub still contains water. Once enough bubbles pop the pressure switch will do it's thing and the time display will start where it stopped as does the rest of the cycle, in this case final spin..

So first let's verify that it isn't just a cycle adjustment. About the only way to do that is to see if it will finish the cycle. Unless you just use way too much detergent ten minutes should be way more than enough time for suds to pop or about anything else to correct itself. So next time it occures just wait and see what happens. Maybe it'll give us an error code. Let me know.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Oasis TL washer, stubborn Sd code

Found the problem. After removing the back panel, found some garments in the bottom of the surrounding clear plastic tub. These must have been periodically blocking the outflow area and triggering the Sd error code. Fixed it by opening the top components of the washer so I could see down into the surrounding tub from above. Fished out the garments with clothes hangar. Put everything back together and have done six loads with zero problems.

SOURCE: Kenmore Oasis HE won't drain

I had the exact same problem last night.

Here is what I did and it fixed it with NO PARTS or SERVICE CALL.

First, I took the drain hose and Blew through it with my mouth... I got air bubbles to come up in the wash bason, this told me the drain pump and hoses were not "Clogged"..

Next I took a shop vac and a 5 gallon bucket and used the vac to **** on the drain hose to start a siphon into the bucket...worked like a champ... I had it drained in less than 3 mins....

I Took the back cover off and then the drain pump off and took the 4-5 screws out of the mounting bracket and took the pump cover off.

What i found when I did this was that there was a VERY SMALL FLAT ROCK stuck between the impellor and the pump casing.

WIth a small screw driver I flicked out the rock and the impellor was free again... HOWEVER, When you do this, the impellor will turn half way and stop... half way and stop, half way and stop...etc.........IT WILL NOT SPIN FREELY like a top. When the motor is still attached to the pump, the armiture in the motor still gives reisitance to the impellor...This I PRESUME this to be normal..

I ended up putting it ALL back together except the back cover to test it...I turned it to a wash cycle and let it run for a few mins. Then i hit stop twice to cancel that wash request. Then i started a second wash cycle and the drain pump kicked right on to drain the water left in the basin from the first test wash..... So far she's purring like a kitten..... Fingers Crossed of course...

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite HE3 F02 error

If you checked the drain pump reservoir and the problem still persists, you may have a pump with a damaged motor/impeller, or something lodged in one of the drain lines. In particular, the drain line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump.

I recommend you remove the inlet hose, first and inspect for clogs. In is common for small garments to become lodged in this area and restrict water flow to the drain pump. Check the output drain line for obstructions as well.

It does not take much to damage this small drain pumps. The error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. So...if the impeller or motor become damaged, and the pump does not pull water at the correct volume, you may still experience the drain error. In this case, you will have to replace the pump in order to get the error to clear. The following link explains how:

Replacements can be purchased at any of the following websites:

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Oasis Wash Machine Error Code F54

The F54 fault code indicates that the control board senses high motor current.
This can be caused by excessive friction in the spin basket.
With the washer off, open the lid and see if the basket spins freely.
If not, you may need to remove the basket and check for an item stuck between the spin basket and the outer washer tub.
The second and third images show procedures for removing the basket on the Oasis washer depending on whether you have an impeller or agitator in your model.
If the basket spins okay, then you can follow the technical troubleshooting described in the first image.
This may help you determine the cause of your washer problem.

"F21" (AKA SD) is a Long (SLOW) Drain error (LD). If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
To check the drain pump...

If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here's the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the Cabinet....
#
1

Disconnect your Kenmore Oasis washing machine from its power source. Make sure that your washer is unplugged before beginning to disassemble it.
#
2

Remove the screws that hold the control console to the top of your Oasis washer. In some Kenmore Oasis models, the two screws may be covered by plastic end caps. After removing the screws, set them aside until you are ready to replace them.
#
3

Flip the console up, back and out of the way.
4

Locate the cabinet clips on the top of your Kenmore Oasis washer. These clips are located toward the back of the washer top and would be hidden by the console if it were not currently flipped up.
#
5

Slide your screwdriver underneath the metal cabinet clips. Wiggle the screwdriver back and forth to gently pry the cabinet clips free.
#
6

Disconnect the group of colored wires that plug into the top of the washer from the control console. These wires control the lid switch on your Kenmore washing machine. To disconnect, grasp the white plastic clip and pull gently.
#
7

Remove the washing machine cabinet. Tilt the cabinet towards you, and then lift the entire cabinet up and off of its platform.

3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here's a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don't own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT - DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console - DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). "C00" will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

Kenmore oasis he....willnot spin flashes f

Hi,
The most common reason for the washing machine not to spin or sometimes not to drain is the punp.If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:
If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.
If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

If you take the front off in the lower right you will find a pump motor that controls the drain flow. This may defective. Use a shop vac to empty the water in washer if needs be. But remove and test this pump.

Ld error and now washer won't function

Yes at the 7 to 9 minute mark is where all the water should be out and the spin cycle progress to finish, sometimes water in tub causes vibration and error codes of oL and the like. Mostly with Oasis and with some front loaders the drain hose can set for a slow drain which is not detected until lint and other small particles start clogging the pump and sometimes the drain. I first check the drain hose to make sure I hear water gurgling as it drains ensuring no back pressure to slow drain. The second one is stuff in the pump and this machine has two pumps. Get a healthy gentleman to tilt the machine back for you so you can examine the pump on the right side. This is the drain pump and the larger of the two. Get a deep flat tray like a oil pan because were going to get wet pulling the hoses off and looking in the pump for debris. While we are here check the exterior hose going to the drain for lint build up.
