Question about iLO (2 GB) MP3 Player

"Format Error"? I have an Element 2gb video mp3 player, and I convert the videos to .amv format, then transfer them on, but I go into my Videos file and try to play them, but all it says is "Format Error." I've tried so many times and I'm getting aggravated. Will someone please help?

If I remember correctly I thought you had to convert the files to avi. not amv files. The model we got did the same *&*^%&! thing all Xmas day then I finally was able to get 1 video file to work!! Anyway it turned out that it was the paticular mp3 player we got... it didn't have the correct driver downloaded. Bottom line I had to take it back and exchange for another model and that one worked fine. I suggest you take that one back before it causes a mental meltdown like it nearly did to me. Good Luck

I dont know how to load videos and watch them on my eclipse mp3. every time i try to watch something...it says format error even though the video on my mp3 is in AVI format!

This is simply because the Eclipse MP3 player does not read .AVI formatted videos. The videos must be in .AMV format. A good way to convert your .AVI videos into .AMV is to use FreeAMVConverter located at the following link. http://www.amvvideoconverter.net/. You can use this to convert your videos to .AMV format and then they should work.
Hope this helped, NathanTaylor

What format do videos have to be in for this device?

Video files must be .AMV formatted to work on this MP3 player. Below is a link to an amazing converter. It’s FREE and will convert your entire file.

Once you have the video files formatted to .AMV

  1. plug your MP3 player into the computer
  2. Go to MY COMPUTER.
  3. Find your .AMV VIDEO
  4. Drag file to the Scroll Bar on the left, hold the file over the GPX DEVICE
  5. Two folders will appear under it. Put file into ALBUMS
To then access videos put onto the device. Hold the MODE BUTTON on your MP3 player until you are returned to your menu screen. Scroll to MOVIES and your videos will be there. :D To return to listening to music or looking at Pictures, hold the MODE BUTTON and simply select your desired destination.

In my mp3 player some amv video files are playing while some of the amv video files are not played. the player says "unsupported form" . why?? what should be done to make the videos play??

Hi,
Every mp3 player has certain restrcition. Lets take an example, your VCD player would not play DVD and so on.....
In this way, only solution is to convert the .amd files into mp3 format.
Google out different converters available in the marke, convert the format and enjoy!!!!
Thanks.

DONT UNDERSTAND HOW TO PUT VIDEOS ON MP3 PLAYER

These players only recognize the .amv file format. If you plug the unit into your computer and open the device through windows explorer, you'll see a folder called AMV utilities or something like that. Inside that folder is an installer with the software you need to convert your mp4s to the right format. I find that mine works best when I convert .avi files.

Cant add videos to mp3 player

Actually, ultimatum, this particular model does play both music and video files, though the latter must be in AMV format. The mp3 player should have come with a CD containing the conversion software you will need. If not, try googling 'WMV (or whatever filetype your videos are) to AMV converter'.

I do not think it is possible to transfer videos directly from YouTube to your player, but there is software out there that will let you "record" videos online and save them to your computer. These files can, in turn, be converted and transferred to the device via the included software.

Hope that helps.

I need to put videos on my mp3 player. how do u do that?

You first need to find out which video format your unit is able to play. Some of the inexpensive players claim that they can play videos in popular format such as wmv and mp4, but in reality those videos have to be converted to another format such as smv or amv. Once you find out which format the videos need to be converted to, download the program off the internet to your computer. The software is usually free and can be found on the manufacturers' website (or a link thereto). From my experience, I've found that it was always best to store videos in the original format on the harddrive of the computer. Convert the videos and have the output files on another folder on the harddrive. After the conversions are completed, connect the mp3 player to the computer and copy or transfer the files to the unit's memory.
