How do i get the sides of a Dimplex westbrook WBK20 fire

The fire basket is a little too big for the fireplace. It would fit if I could get the sides off. Initially it looked like a couple of screws held the sides on but on closer inspection it is more complex than that. It looks to me that I will have to take the electric unit out and then access the sides. There are 6 screws on the bottom. The back four look to hold 2 simple brackets but I cannot id the use of the front 2 and need to know if I will damage anything by removing them.

SOURCE: drop side latches at bottom are broken, side wont stay up without zip ties or some other thing holding it together.

I got a hold with Delta and they told me that model 4822 is obsolete and that they no longer sell the hardware. I need new brackets as well.

SOURCE: motor in dimplex fire/heater not turning

Hello. It could be possible that a piece or some of the foil that gives the flame effect has fallen down on the motor, that creates the heat. This could be causing the noise. I would not think this is an electrics problem.

I would ensure the electric fire is disconnected from any power supply and either open the heater myself or get a electrical specialist to have a look. Then you will see exactly what is happening. A piece of foil may be visible which is catching the motor.

If you decide to tackle the problem yourself write down how to put the heater back together as you take each part out. These parts would be covers etc. It can easily get confusing. That is important.

I have 2 Dimplex DS4411 fireplace heaters. One has the fire display, but does not heat. The other has heat, but no fire display. How do I fix it?

The fire display is a simple replacement of the light bulbs that produce the effect.
The heater issue could be a bad temp sensor, or a bad heater.

Steve, a 60 watt, small base, chandelier bulb is what is required. There are usually 3 to 4 of them in most electric fireplaces.

My dimplex fireplace is too noisy. It's been that way from day one. We should have sent it back, I guess. Everything else is great about it but it sounds like a 747 jet!

I have been dealing with electric fireplace/heaters for several years, now. And for the life of me, I can not think of a thing that would cause a noise like a 747 jet plane. Could you be a little more specific as to which function of the fireplace cause this noise?

Look forward to hearing from you.

How to change bulbs on Dimplex HTN 20

If you have a compact fireplace in a cabinet mantle, you will need to remove the front Plexiglas and frame from the front of the firebox. Remove the logs, then the 1- piece ember bed (it just lifts out). This will give you access to the light bulbs.

If you what looks like an old wood stove, you access then from the rear of the unit. Remove the bottom access panel by unscrewing the 4 screws that hold it in place. You can then reach the light bulbs to change them.

In both cases, the replacement bulbs are small base chandelier bulbs.

Hope this helps to solve your problem.
