My 'Jazz DV-179' camcorder does not charge. I plug it into the computer and the light turnes a red or green but it's not charging for i left it like that for a whole day and it never had more battery...

Local retailer suggested a universal charger for the 3.7 volt battery and take it out and charge it and put it back in. A bit cumbersome but it might work as long as the charger has 3 contacts in the right places

Well.. I have to plug in the charger that came with the dv-179. If I use my Phone (motorola usb) charger, or a USB cable (into the computer or a hub), all it does is light up the back red light (and not the front 'self timer' led) and does not charge the camera. So remember, if the back led lights up, you've got the wrong charger!
