Error 1311. Source file not found ...\VL1715_setup\Data.Cab

I am unable to install the driver for my Princeton Graphics VL1715 monitor on this PC. I have previously used it with the same driver on a previous machine. Both are running WinXP Pro.

The installer cannot find the Cab file inside the VL1715,msi installation file.

The PC is a Dell 8250. I've never looked at the motherboard. You suggest I reflash the bios and all of the drivers?

By the way the install is from the C: drive, not a CD.

All other drivers except the Intel chipset (850 Family) are up to date.

The video card is an Nvidia GEForce4 MX420. I updated the Nvidia drivers to no effect on this specific problem. However, the new Nvidia drivers have solved the original problem of getting CIV 3 to play on that PC. Therefore I no longer need to load the Princeton files. The PC seems to be happy without them. So in a sense you did solve my problem, and I have rated you unfairly low.

A wild guess, since you didn't give a brand of your computer.
MSI mother board? Reinstall the motherobard software and drivers.

No . I am not suggesting that you flash the BIOS . I am suggesting that newer drivers are likely available  and you should download them and install, especially the video card driver. They even have diagnostic software fot your model, if you have or can borrow another monitor that will work.     Their seems to be 12 different video cards on your model alone. If this doesn't work , judge me not harshly but give me a chance to have you try something else.

Where can I find the driver for a Princeton VL1919 monitor

Princeton Graphics VL2018W monitor does not require any drivers to function. If you have problems changing resolutions, color depth, or refresh rates, Please consult your video card manufacturer for a video driver or support. Your system will not identify the monitor if video drivers is not installed properly. I agree with this statement. You dont need drivers for monitors 99.9% of the time. Usually you video card is what is wrong if u cant change the resolution.

Princeton VL1715-1 no display

From what you say there is probably not much you can do with it, the parts inside are SMD, to small
to work on. If you could still see txt on the screen when you shine your torch, it could be fixed by
replacing the back lighting PCB.

Hope this helps

Princeton VL1715 startup problem

Have you disabled your onboard video in the BIOS? Boot your machine with the vga cord to the motherboard. You need to get into the BIOS. Depending on the make of your machine you need you will need to hit the del key, f2, or even f1. Go to the periphrial setup and disable your onboard video. Save the BIOS turnoff the computer and plug the monitor into you vga card. That should do it. To change it back to your motherboards vga just reverse the instructions. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
