Tray on Sony DVP SR 405P Xvid player is locked and will not open. Shows E-lck on display.

This has not happened because of tray being locked to prevent accidental opening.

SOURCE: Sony DVP-NC85H Multi-disc DVD Tray locked

Look on the bottom of the unit. There is a hole with the letters ex and op. Shine a light in the hole and you will see a white plastic object with a slot for a slot screwdriver. You can turn this either way but be careful. If you feel resistance and the object does not turn, turn the other direction and the unit will open. Remember if the disc loaded the clamping of the disc is in place so you must turn it the proper way to let the current disc loose hence the op and the ex. Op is open. Ex is exchange.

Tray locked on sony dvp-ns77h dvd player

If the Sony DVP-NS77H DVD player displays "TRAY LOCKED" and you can't eject a disc or open the tray, try the following - First turn the unit off. Then, while holding down the eject, play and stop buttons simultaneously (on the front of the DVD player), turn the unit on with the '/O button (also on the front of the player). This released the locked tray for me.

Hi, I have a sony DVP-SR500H dvd player. I've had it for about 4 months. It is showing an error code "t-lck" on the display when I push eject and the tray won't open. There is a feature on...

T-LCK indicates device protection, not child lock - you will need to take it to an authorised Sony service centre; they will charge a quote fee to tell you what parts if any need replacing and what's involved (always ask for details) - you can then make a decision on whether or not to go ahead with the repair.

Maybe there is a modification the service centre can carry out to permanently disable this unnecessary protection; it isn't reliable. As I say, you can always say no to the repair after the initial quote if you feel it is going to cost more than the machine is worth.

Unlock Sony DVP NS725p

Ensure the child lock feature is disabled. Attempt to open the disc tray. If the issue is not resolved, turn off the DVD player. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Attempt to open the disc tray. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons or the RETURN + ENTER+ POWER buttons. If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required. The Sony eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.

Your system is in child lock mode. I had this exact problem this week. You need to put the system into standby mode and then press return, then enter then on/off and it will be unlocked.
