What are the correct settings for the low and high speed adjustments on a Walbro WT218 carburetor on a SOLO line trimmer?

This will generally get you close: 1.5 turns for both the "H' and the "L" needle screws - adjust from there.

Note: Screw all the way in until they stop (do not over tighten), back off by counting the turns. Most trimmers will run at about 1.5 turns and adjusting from there. Consult your manual for more specifics.

Poulin p3314 gas runs out carb

Set the H and L jet screws CW to stops (lightly), then CCW 1-3/4 turns each. This is a basic setting and both need to be turned CW somewhat when the engine runs. Recheck the lower chamber in the carburetor for correct installation of the needle, seat, spring, fulcrum, and diaphragm. Go to: www.drystacked.com for a detailed look at Walbro brand carburetors. Even if you do not have a Walbro carburetor, the principles are much the same. Make sure the fuel tank vent is open.

What is the walbro chain saw carburetor adjustment for a

There is no set adjustment on any chain saw. If it were that simple there would be no need for adjustments. The problem is that most equipment manufactured in the past 10 years can not be adjusted by the user. Carburetors are now equipped with either adjustment limiters which limit the adjustment to less than half a turn or with adjustment screws that require a special tool to make the adjustment. More than likely you will have to take it to an authorized dealer for those adjustments.

If you do have an adjustable carburetor, then gently close both needles and open each on 1 full turn. This should allow the engine to start and the final adjustments can be made at that point. If it still will not start then open each needle 1/8 to 1/4 turn and try again. If this still does not work then most likely your carburetor needs a good cleaning and a rebuild kit.
