I used generic ink and now my printer isnt working like before
Hi; im fran and i have a kodak 5100 all in one printer. i ordered a generic brand ink and when i tried it it stunk, so i stopped using it and ordered my kodak ink like i should have in the beginning. well i put the ink wells in clicked them and tried to print. well its a mess first, most of the time the paper only prints what it likes and margins. the paper is mostly blank. i just tried again and it printed a kodak add its so light you can read it and the two faces look like the girls are possessed. i dont know what to do, i looked and it said something about cleaning the printer head, i dont even know where it is. we are not computer smart and we are not printer smart either, can you explain it in real simple terms so someone like me can get it running.. forever grateful fran from chatham

ARE YOU USING A GENERIC PRINTER CARTAGE, THE CARTTAGE MAY BE DEFAULTING AND ERROR, BUY NAME BRAND CARTITAGE AND TRY IF THAT DOESNT SOLVE THE PROBLEM THAN GO INTO INTERNET EXPLORER GOTO FILE TO PRINT, OPEN PEREFERANCE LOOK AT ALL OPTION AND CHECK OUT EACH TASK
THIS IS TRUE OF ANY TYPE OF PAPER, MOST MANUFACTURE RECOMMAND THERE OWN BRAND OF PAPER FOR SPECAIL USES OF THERE MACHINE AND IF YOU USE A GENERIC TYPE OF PAPER YOU WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM, PAPER WILL NOT PICKUP, PAPER MAY JAM ALOT, PAPER PRINT QUILITY MAYBE BE POOR, INK MAY MEER, TOMERS ARE SOME OF THE PROBLEM TO ALONG WITH PAPER ISSUES ALSO, YOU MAY HAVE TO USE A THICKER OR THINNER VELLLUM PAPER, CALL A REPOGRAPHIC STORE , ONE DO BLUE PRINT PRINTING, MAP COPIERS, ASK AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS
Yes it is always recommended to use the brand name ink for your printer. I know it cost a little more but the quality is better. Not much you can do except take it out and throw it away and get a new cartridge. The longer the Generic stays in the worse you're problems will be, especially if the ink leaks into the rollers...
