Question about Onkyo HT-S780 System

On/Standby button not working Onkyo HT-S5100

Recently purchased an Onkyo HT-S5100 home theater system. It utilizes a RC-707M remote. When I press the On/Standby button nothing happens when the receiver is turned of (standby). When it is on and I press the On/standby button, it just cycles through the display modes (like I'm pressing the Display button). I tried resetting the remote, but with no sucess. Please help!

Code that I have for sky + is: 01175. There are several other codes for other versions of sky boxes if you think you may need them but that should be the one.

Samsung has a huge code list: 10017, 10037, 10047, 10054, 10056, 10060, 10090, 10092, 10093, 10154, 10156, 10178, 10226, 10702, 10766, 10814, 11060, 11235. Unfortunatly you'll just have to try them one at a time until you find one that works. Hope this helps.

It's possible that you have the wrong speaker set (A or B). Look for that button and change the setting and see if that works

The included i-Pod dock is the DS-A1 and it is not compatible with any iPhone. It's compatible with the third (select versions) through fifth generation iPods. It can also work with the IPod nano (first and second generation), iPod mini and iPod Photo. How do I connect my laptop to my Onkyo HT-S5100 home theatre system?
You need to stereo on L and R RCA connector. Something like this:

I can't get the subwoofer off of standby mode. It's Onkyo HT_S5100. I have tried to alter the sensitivity level as described in the manual and it hasn't helped.
I have the same problem. I saw on another forum that you can plug the sub cable into the "tape out" and it works. It did work for me but now the volume control doesn't control the sub along with the other 5 speakers. Not sure what else to do...

Inquiring about a new remote control for home theater system.
The Harmony universal remote is on clearance at my local Radio shack for $37. Normally $100. Great remote.

Dvd hdmi cable into receiver
unhook and reconnect a few times, try with power on and off, (they have to communicate with each other) if not, return receiver and get a new one.. I had this happen with my yamaha...

HELP: Onyo Remote Does Not Recognize Receiver when using Cable
Since you have the cable connected to the reciever thru the HDMI, you may have accidently changed the input source of the reciever from HDMI or digital to analog.

When you have the reciever set to listen to the cable, check the input mode and make sure it is set to use the HDMI or digital input and not the analog.
The rca jacks are analog, and they worked, so I think you have just solved your own problem without realizing it.

Onkyo sub-woofer will not power up Ok, I was able to get a schematic for the skw-530 and the fuse checks to be fine. But the schematic doesn't give me what the voltage coming out of the linear transformer that feeds the ciruit board. There a two resistors that are connected to the transformer that get really really hot. the printed circuit board where the transfor connects does say "AC in". My question is what should be the proper voltage to the circuit board?
