LG Flatron W2234S Monitor (purchased day after Thanksgiving)
Monitor goes black and displays LG Logo with an Energy Star icon next to it for about 3 seconds then returns to normal. The transition occurs at varying intervals but appears that something may be wrong with the monitor. Currently blinking about every couple minutes.

Re: Moniter transitions to LG logo
Check the cable and make sure it is plugged in securely at both the monitor and PC. If the cable is connected properly, then the problem must be in the monitor itself. You could try setting the input mode manually on the monitor - the default should be auto - you could set it to VGA or DVI whichever your case is and see if it helps.

Try changing the Resolution for the lowest one, if it works it will see the letters and everything very big. I have same trouble, specially since I change the original Vista Starter for the new Windows 7, I have not found a free controler that helps me and I have seen many people with same the problem. Sorry for my english.
First try it on another Pc, you'll know the root of the problem. If there's no problem on another pc then the problem would be with your video card/motherboard.
If the problem is still the same on another Pc, then your monitor has internal problem. You better call up a technician, he/she will check it for you, must be Pcb problem.
Thanks for using FixYa.
I will assume that you have already try this monitor with other PC with the same result, and also try new VGA cable with the same result, otherwise you will have to open it up and o some inspection inside the monitor. Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.
Hi, the Power Saving Mode, turns the screen off to conserve energy. On the remote, press Menu, and scan to Power Saving Mode. You can change the amount of time, when the Screen turn-off, the TV shut-off etc. You can set the time to (5 min) to, (never, turn-off). This should help with your problem. Thanks paul7of9
My screen developed exactly the same problem. It appears to be a hardwear problem associated with the screen it's self. continuity test is ok on the lead so I took it back to the shop under warranty and hey presto, the replacement works. I don't know what the problem is but there are a number of other folks on another thread with the same problem and their entries are dated May 09 too.
i get a similar thing, i accidently entered sleep mode then turned off my computer at the power button on the back, now i turn on my monitor( i dont get blue flasjhing but it jsut goes on and it doesnt register, then says going into power saving mode and the colour on the button turns yellow its very frustrating :(
