Try heating it up with a hair dryer or similar if that does not work then you will probably have to break the glass cover.

The glass cover does come off. Use some latex gloves or non skid material and grasp the lens firmly and turn counter clockwise.

Testimonial: "Spot on - I actually used insulating tape and water pump pliers- but I needed to know it would be ok."
Having tried several ways to get the glass cover off, there is one other thing you can try.
Spray some WD40 around the glass cover, and keep trying to tighten and then unscrewng it, and tighten again.
If this does not work, then the last resort is to break the glass cover, which is what I have had to do in the past,. but make sure you can get a replacement cover first.

Testimonial: "I was worried that WD40 might be dangerous in the oven but as I have tried everything else apart from breaking it I might as well try it. Many thanks"
I went out and bought a 4 inch strap wrench from LOWE's. I had never heard of one before. After figuring out from the diagram how to use it, I wrapped it around the glass bulb cover and did a counterclockwise twist and off it came. P.S. I'm a girl so I feel pretty good about that project
