Strange noise coming from printer

There is a noise like a geiger counter coming from the printer. We hear it pretty frequently.

The clicking noise happens when the printer isn't doing anything. It just starts clicking for no reason.

The printer makes a clicking noise almost like a phone connection going in and out even when it isn't connected to the phone line. It is very annoying. It sounds electrical, not mechanical.

My printer made a clicking noise when it was printing and gave me a printer error. I had a paper clip stuck in the gears. We took it apart a few times before we found it. Hope it works.

The power light is not coming on but printer is making noises when plugged in.

Not sure if it's the same problem as yours or not..... Even when the printer is turned off, it will make a noise about once an hour or so. It sounds like the print heads 'un-park' then park themselves again. Strange......

When I am printing, the printer smells as if something is burning. Now, it is also making strange noises even when it is not printing and all the lights are flashing.

Hi, The burning smell is natural as you have a laser printer. Most the printers take some time whenever they start to prepare for printing. While doing this some noise may come which is due to mechanical adjustment.

b. 7 then press SET
a. 8 then press SET

Strange loud noise coming out of my OKI C7400

If it is a dry barring in the fan you should have it fixed because it will stop someday and you will need a new printer. Well that is just a way to justify an upgrade.

I bought a printer cannon mp240 and when its going to start printing it makes a strange noise i want to know if thats normalll thanx

Depends what you mean by 'strange noise'. If this was the case ever since you bought the machine, then its normal, if you do not get any printer errors. Most printers make noises while they are initializing, lots of gears and stuff moving around inside...

If this is a fairly new occurrence, please explain in greater detail, so I can provide a solution (if there is one:)

Reset counter on Xerox Phaser 8200

I think the maintanance kit runs out based on time and usage, which ever comes first, roll back your printers clock a few months or more and see if that fix's the problem.
