check for bulging capacitors on the power supply board. you will have to remove the back cover from the television set to get a good look at the power board. If you do notice swollen capacitors, desolder the bad ones out and solder new ones in.

Had lightning hit near by and tv will not do anything. could it be the cord or is there a reset button?

it may have blown the shock diode on the power board check that and change it. it stops the tv from blowing up in a lightning strike. if it has worked it wil have just blown that and the fuse inside the tv and nothing els.

I downloaded lastest firmware v1.15 for my Philips 42PFL3603D/27 LCD TV. Unzipped it and put it on an empty 8GB jump drive then plugged it into the TV. I unhooked everything to the TV, turned it off,...

when you unzip the file you may need to put it into a file called "upgrades". Try an empty USB stick (size should not matter) and put the autorun file into the upgrades file.

Big grey/black spot

Is it a fuzzy spot or an actual hard edged black spot?LCD televisions can have a loss of pixel display- most very small. Was the TV hit with something or dropped against something (the screen)?

OR Try this first:
Black box appears on the screen
• Closed-captioning might be on. Check the Analog or Digital Caption option in the Setup menu.

Please let me know if your problem is solved. Thank You.
