Camera button will not take pictures

I took the first v-touch back because the photo (middle) button would not work properly. Now, the second unit has the same problem. the button works for other functions...but not for snaping photos. So, \i do not know if it is faulty hardware, which I think, or it is a software malfuction. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
David

My Kodak playfull will not turn off after I took photo, it will not do anything

First, I'd try holding the power button down for 30 seconds. That will force a shut down on a lot of electronic devices. Do you have the manual? It might show a combination of buttons to force a shutdown.

If that doesn't work, try removing the battery. That will force a shutdown. If the battery is not removable, then you'll just have to wait until the battery wears out, which could take days.

If you get it to shut down, then start it back up. If it's still frozen when you restart, then your problem is not something I can solve

CANON POWERSHOT S2 IS 5 MEGA PIXELS

I bought mine 2 1/2 yrs ago too. Found this solution on this site and tried it. It worked perfectly.
Turn to TV mode, set the exposure to 15 seconds by pushing the little "arrow dial" until you have 15"
Push the button to take the picture.
Wait 7 seconds from when you push the button, then turn over and open the battery door while it is "taking the picture."
Close the battery door and turn back on.
I did this three times and the last time, it worked and the iris became unstuck.
Then I took a million pictures to get the iris moving.
Good luck!

Using automatic timer to take group photo

Press the bottom part of the square with the "OK" button in the middle. It has a picture of a clock. "Off" will be highlighted, so scroll down to the picture of the clock, and it will show the message "Selftimer On: A photo is taken automatically 12 sec. after shutter button is pressed." Press the OK button to activate this mode. Now it's just like taking a regular picture, just press the button and run over to the group and in 12 seconds it will take the picture.

White streaks on all photos but not video

Sounds like the shutter isn't working properly.

It should be looked at by at technician.

Card setup error

The first link is to software for recovery of deleted photos, free.

The second is a paid link, but guarantees the recovery or your money back. So try the first one, and if it doesn't work try the second.

File error

I have seen this problem with generic SD memory cards so it could be a faulty memory stick.  Try to get a replacement.  If you want to try to recover the pictures you have taken, I suggest Zero Assumption Recovery (Google for it). Check to see if it is compatible with your camera before downloading.
