Problems with LG MP3 Player (due to a mistake in the operation of the device)

By jennyr on Jul 03, 2007

" "
Hi all:

I have a problem with my LG MP3 Player recently adquired.
By mistake I accidentally deleted a set of files, after that, my player didn't work anymore.

I was looking into LG web site the support to solve this problem, and actually I found a set of files to "upgrade" the player.

I applied the procedure to upgrade it, and now the Player is working fine (with all functionalities: Video, Music, Radio, Photos, etc)

But on despite of that, I'm still have a problem every time I turn on the device, the error message is the following: Not initial file download FM37.INT.

I NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO LET ME KNOW HOW I COULD GET THE FILE NAMED FM37.INT THAT THE PLAYER IS ASKING AND IN ADDITION TO THAT WHERE DO I HAVE TO COPY (INTO THE PLAYER).

For your information that was the sequence of errors that I have received after I made my mistake:
1st Error:
Not initial file download FM37.INT,
2nd Error:
VIS loading failing
3rd Error:
Font Loading Error Q02

Then I downloaded the zip file with the upgradeable version (sorry I did not find which version I downloaded) and now I just receive this message I mentioned (every time I turn on the device):
Not initial file download FM37.INT

My MP3 has the following features:

LG FM37 (Touch Me) and Firmware Ver. S1.10EN

Thanks in advanced for your support

-   I have a 2 GB UP3 Player model UP-S... It's also branded with LGT-UP-S(B) on the back sticker. I reformatted the device while using it as a USB drive and killed the MP3 player as I had no idea the software to run the device was actually stored in a way where I could destroy it.
I've poured over LG's site and have not found a single it of support docs for the device much less something along the lines of a firmware upgrade.
I tried their chat and they told me that I've basically turned my mp3 player into a USB key...
I can't find the firmware anywhere online. -   Guest

Hi,
I too have had the "Device Manager code 9001 see manual" message come up on my LG unit, after having upgraded the firmware. All my music and photos disappeared and the unit would lock up if I tried to record anything.
I decided to format the device (from the General Settings) and the error message doesn't come up anymore. All my stuff was gone so there was nothing left to lose. It seems to be working now. I hope this helps you guys too.

Hi,

I also did a firmware upgrade and found everything gone! Lots of error messages.
However, a simple fix is to go to settings and format the device.
This will wipe all your files (they are probably gone anyway) and maybe you will need to set up new folders also (go to My Computer, open the LG device and set up new folders if needed.)
Download the files (music, photos etc) again.
PS if anyone has had success loading video files on an LG FM37 let me know. The LG media centre and the device don't seem to recognise any video formats.

For those FM37 Mp3 multimedia player owners who thought the radio was rubbish, because it couldn't pick up any stations, - there is a simple solution.

In "Settings" for radio, you may find that under the subheading "Regions", the setting may be "Other". That is, for regions *other than Japan or Korea.

Though I am in Australia, I changed it to "Japan", and can now listen to good reception.

So, wherever you may be, if not Japan or Korea, try one of those 2 choices, if intial reception is non existant.

I think it all has to do with frequencies.

You can also choose the sensitivity of the radio.
