It is prefered that you ONLY hardwire these machines. if its not in the user guide to setup that way it is not supported.

How to recieve fax from canon pixma-mx 330

You will need to plug in a phone cable to the back of the printer. Then enter the printer's set up page by typing in the IP address of the printer into a browser and walk through the fax setup steps.

SMTP server to use with Sharp fax machines (UX-B800SE and UX-D1200SE)Posted by...

SMTP2Go provides an SMTP server that authenticates senders based on their 'from' email address, meaning that it works with fax machines that are unable to send an SMTP username or password.<br /> Two examples of SMTP setup procedures for popular Sharp fax machines are below:<br /> Sharp UX-B800SE and UX-D1200SE Broadband Fax SMTP setup In the 'Network Settings' area, enter smtp2go.com as the SMTP server, and <b>UNCHECK</b> the box 'POP before SMTP'. Try entering either port 2525, 25, or 587 as the outgoing SMTP port. Then, make sure you are sending 'from' an email address that is registered with SMTP2Go.<br /> See a sample screenshot from the UX-B800SE fax below (click on it to enlarge):<br /> <br /> <p><a href="http://www.smtp2go.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/sharp_fax_ux-b800se_smtp_setup.gif"><img src="sharp_fax_ux-b800se_smtp_setup_small.jpg" /></a><br /> Please note that Gmail's SMTP server doesn't work, as it not only requires a username/password, but it also requires that SSL/TLS is used.<br /> Please note: some fax machines may still have a problem sending - if this is the case, use the IP address of 207.58.142.213 instead of smtp2go.com as the SMTP server.<br /> SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "SMTP server to use with Sharp fax machines (UX-B800SE and UX-D1200SE)", url: "http://www.smtp2go.com/blog/smtp-server-to-use-with-sharp-fax-machines-ux-b800se-and-ux-d1200se/" }); <span><a><span>ShareThis</span></a></span><br />

I've connected my IR1023iF to the network. The printer and fax work fine but the scanner doesn't work at all.

If you've hooked up the copier via ethernet cable then it needs to be setup for scan to email, FTP or scan to folder (smb). This can be done through the copiers web interface which is accessed by typing the copiers IP Address into your web browser. If you've hooked the copier up via USB, then there is 'toolbar' software that you would use for scanning. If you need the software, let me know and I can post it on an FTP site. Just an fyi...I'm pretty sure that you can't hook up both ethernet and USB at the same time.

Cannot get wireless or bluetooth to work with laptop. The software was loaded on. It will print only if connected by usb.

First, make sure that your Printer is setup with the correct wireless information from your wireless router. Once this information has been entered, you should be able to connect to the wireless printer.

Click add Printer, from Control Panel, Printers & Faxes.

Click Add Printer, and than add Local Printer, Create Local Port, TCP/IP.

Print out the network configuration page from the printer, should be under menu.

Next input the IP information into the IP Address field, the Port will automatically be filled in.

Scanning to email; Canon LC730i

You need to network the printer via its ethernet port and you need an email server in that network to route the fax.

I got it to work at home using hmail (a free windows mail server).

I cant find the sending guide which I have in print, you will need that as the most important piece, but basically if you know basic email account setup, you should be able to go through data registration button on main panel and under system settings-> network settings I believe enter SMTP IP address of your internal email server. Another avenue for this would be to ask your ISP if they relay email for static IP subscribers. Qwest does and you might be able to point the fax directly to the relay but I haven't tested this (in lieu of the in home hmail server).

Resending Faxes

This is possible. there are several requirements though.

youe first option is if you have two multi-function devices cable of sending and receiving e-mail. If you do, set the iR3320 up to forward the faxes to an e-mail or i-fax address (another name for a e-mail address). Set the other machine to receive the e-mails sent to the previously mentioned e-mail address.

Your other option is to set the iR3320 up to forward the faxes to a folder on a computer. In this case you can open and view the faxes and if you want them on paper, send the job to another printer.

This setup is rather tricky, so unless you have a really really really clued up I.T. guy, i would recommend that you have a Canon technician set this up for you.

Network Problems

Thats bizzare that it would do that. that would mean that you cant browse for network shares accross the router either. hmm.
The latest colour network scangear will allow you to scan across subnets, the original versions had a problem with that. The latest version is V2.30 and is available here http://www.canon.ca/buzdownloads/clrnwsg_wsu_cnsg_0230.zip

You will probably have to specify the scanner IP address manually as the discovery function wont work accross subnets.

Just curious, can you give an example of your wired and wireless IP addresses and subnet masks?
