Will not print black only.

take a STRONG, THICK sponge and cut it to the size of the hole that you put the color ink cartrege.Dampened the sponge in hot water (better into microwave oven for 1 min) Got to be dampened HOT but not drupey wet and place into hold of printer for 1 min. rub sround inside. If color comes out on sponge (that is good) you have loosened the clogged inkjet holes. Your ink still good? on the same HOT, DAMPED sponge placed the cartarage head down on the sponge and rub like you mean it. BE CAREFUL of the metal contacts & ribbons running up the front of cartarage.

My canon pixma mp530 makes a loud noise most times when it powers up and when i print a document. It works OK otherwise.

My MP-530 would try to boot up making a noise like something slipping or grinding, ending with ERROR Code 5100.

Solution: Open the Lid. The drive belt was loose and not able to drive the carriage. There is a gear on the right side of the carriage and a pulley on the left side of the carriage. The spring which holds the pulley tight is missing or broken. I was not able to see the tension spring. To put tension on the pulley, to tighten the drive belt, I cut a Popsicle stick into a wedge and inserted it into the middle slot right of the pulley.
Close the lid and power back on. Runs like new. Hope this helps.

Right-side cover will not close, springs are disconnected.

Normally the right cover hooks break off and causes the door not to close. There is square holes in front and back of the right cover that you can use to hook the spings again.

Removal of cartarage of hp psc1410 all-in-one inkjet printer

Step1: Make sure the HP is on and paper is loaded in the tray.
Step2: Gently lower the print carriage access door at the front of the unit. Do not force it.
Step3: Press down on the print cartridge gently to release it. Pull it towards you and remove.
Step4: Gently clean the cartridge with a slightly moist paper towel and then pat dry

Step5: Slide the print cartridge into the empty slot, and gently push forward until it clicks into place. If it does not click, do not force it. Remove it, and try again.
Close the print carriage access door. An alignment sheet will print to make sure everything is lining up.

Hope this helps & happy holidays!

Paper pulling

Be sure your paper guides are tight against the paper. If so, then clean the feed wheels with a damp cloth (just water). If this helps temporarily, you might need to replace the feed wheels.

Print only on rigth side. I know it the blue lever. Where can I get parts

I have the same problem with my 1950MC. When I examined the blue lever carefully on the right side of the machine I found that the plastic lever was cracked at its thinnest point. Thus when both levers are locked down that one was not holding the print head tightly enough to print that side of the paper. If I held the print head down manually, the copy printed fine. So if you have this problem, check the blue levers for cracks. The levers are easy to remove and should not cost very much. I recommend that you replace both left and right levers. These plastic parts cannot stand up to very much use without cracking.
