SOURCE: GE top freezer refrigerator
The air flow vents must be blocked. The refrigerator cools from the freezer through those vents, it does not cool independently. They may be clogged in the case with ice. Turn the fridge off and leave doors open for a few hours to let it thaw and it will probably start working.

Check to see if the vents between the refrigerator and freezer are blocked. Or check to see if the fan is running (the evap fan motor in the back of the freezer) You may have a defrost problem if the vents aren't plugged.

SOURCE: MY GE GSH22JFTABB WONT GET COLD
To solve this problem, you must open the compressor area at the back bottom of the refrigerator and chek the temperature of the pressure line. If the temperature is between 55celcius to 60 than its ok. Or else you need to change the refrigerant.
I suggest you to contact the service authority.
Thanks for contacting Fixya.
