I have wondered about how to turn the green buttons on myself. I have the opposite problem now. I was working on something and hit a series of keys (I dont know what series) and now the green buttons are on...all the time. I dont know how to turn them off so now I do not have number sign, or question mark when I am writing emails. This only happens with outlook. All other apps are ok.How do I turn off the green letters, symbols etc.
    Thx

I have the exact same problem, I cannot get the green keys to come off!

I'm having the same problem. It seems like the green keys on the keyboard have been turned on and I can't seem to turn them off. It only seems to be happening in word perfect though.

cant turn on my bluetoon on my lg rd410

  • prettyfly May 11, 2010

This does not work....holding down the Fn key and pressing down on the alternate symbol key makes no difference to this issue at all....I can`t even type in an email address because now my ``at`` button no longer works! I can`t even type in hyphens or quotation marks right anymore!

I had a similar problem, kept getting french accented letters such as è, ç,à,é when i pressed keys like ", / , \ .... Anyways to solve the problem i pressed ctrl and then shift.

it switched back after pressing this a couple times.

Good luck!

Try Left Alt, Shift.

It worked for me on my LG R40.

I think that this is a standard way to switch between keyboard input languages in Windows. It doesn't seem to be related to LG, rather it is a Windows function. LG just happens to put common alternate language symbols in green on their keys for the convenience of non-English users.

I think you are referring to the keys that have two functions. The white letters/numbers are what the key normally is when you type. The other characters are what the keys do when you press the Fn key that is down on the lower left side of the keyboard next to the Ctrl key.
Just press the Fn key and while holding it down, press the key that has the alternate symbol on it.

Change to US language in the language bar. The problem is the keyboard mapping in Canadian bi-lingual.

Keyboard for lenovo R500 laptop not working

What do you mean not working? Is it that certain keys don't work, or the whole keyboard does not work?

Maybe your keyboard has been hijacked by a virus. Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode to see if it works?

Turn off the computer, then hit the power buttonto turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly untilyou see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. SafeMode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the iconsbigger, this is normal

I got lg laptop and the key board is not working due to that i opened it and pasted the broken cover of it and now the key board is not performing properly. When i pressed one key letter it's automatically...

There is not so much that could be done to repair a keyboard. Disassemble the laptop, check the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. If the ribbon cable is loose, tighten it. If it is tight, replace the keyboard with a new one

Green function key locked on acer laptop

Hey, I've just been having this problem. Try pressing CTRL + SHIFT + FN all at the same time. I found out that I had to press them once to turn on the green keys, and then press them twice more to turn it off. I hope that works for you.

How do I remove the keyboard of my LG E200 laptop? I unscrewed the two bottom screws that have the keyboard icon - what next?

Hi,
As far as i remember with LG laptops they had 2 ways of assembly with their keyboards.
Once you have removed the keyboard screws from the base of the laptop turn it back over and open the lid.
Now there are 2 ways of removing the keyboard depending on the mapping of the components.
1, With the Xnote laptop series (and some others) there is 4 little latches above the F keys that you have to push back with a small flat headed screwdriver, once you have pushed them back the keyboard will lift up from the base, be careful as there is a fragile ribbon cable that has to removed from the motherboard before you can take the keyboard completely away from the base.

2, With some other LG models there is a plastic strip that goes across the top of the keyboard called the keyboard bezel, this has to be removed first by getting a very small flat headed screwdriver and gently lift the bezel out starting on one of the hinges first, the rest you can gently pull away with your fingers, this cuts down on cosmetic damage cause by the screwdriver. If your laptop is of this type there maybe a couple of screws at the top of the keyboard (under the bezel), again be careful with the ribbon cable.

Good luck.
