Are you talking about the manual passcode that you assign on each console? Or the password to his XBox Live account?

What do I do if I forget my pass code for my Xbox LIVE Account? If you have forgotten your Xbox LIVE account pass code, recover your account using Xbox LIVE.

    To recover a gamertag
To recover your gamertag, you need the associated Windows Live ID and password for your Xbox LIVE account.
  1. If you're signed into Xbox LIVE with another gamertag, press the Guide button, and then press X on your controller to sign out.

Map pack 2 (xbox360)

I'm guessing your hard drive realized that it hadn't had a previous copy of the downloadable content, so it may have needed like an authorization thing or something, and without it, it may have left a bit out...

The way for a mate to get the maps as well is recover his gamertag to your console, bye the maps and then download them then have your mate recover his gamertag back to his console then you both should have the maps for the price of only 1 mappack.

Recovring gamertag problem

Corrupt File (microsoft cant let you recover gamertag due to mods hacks and such) that is possibly what has happened. You downloaded a corrupt file and now microsoft has found something wrong. You can no only make a new gamertag and ask for free xbox live for compensation. (you might get it)

Recovery?

Hi Viktoriag,
Once you recover your gamertag for the first time, it is signed up for the IP address you signed up on.
In other words, he can only play using the gamertag at his friends house.
Theres a few options such as getting a wireless router for his home, but thats alot of money and time for a little subscription.
Alternatively, you can call the xbox support tam and ask them torelocate.
Hpe this helps, good luck
