Question about Toshiba A205-S4577 Notebook
First you should have checked the voltage and amperage on your friends charger. Sounds as if it was not correct for you computer. Pulsating sound often occurs when too much amperage is applied. Sometimes you can get lucky and just mess up the battery. Try removing battery and pluging in your power cable to see if you can atleast get your system running again. If not the result will not be one that you will like very much unless you were about to be replacing your laptop. Always make sure you read the labels on any replacement power cords.
