Question about Smith Corona Wordsmith 200 Typewriter
Hello- If I know this site was out there I would have posted much sooner. SCM Word Smith 250....the problem was with a defective striker plate. The manufacturing facility in China was having some issues. Here in the USA all of the larger office suppliers stopped selling the machines ( companies like Azerty, United Stationers, Arlington, Carolina Wholesale, Quill, Viking Office Products, etc). I was told Smith Corona would fix your machine for free and will even pay you for the shipping expense you may incur.
If you need other info you can email or call me. Duane@FJAproducts.com

The markes you see is the print hammer hitting the ribbon & paper. remove the ribbon & print wheel. look close at the print wheel when out of the machine if there are any spaces betwen the spokes a letter has broken off and you need a new print wheel, If just bent slowly strten them out. reinstall wheel & ribbon try it.
